In the original 2010 Wii edition of Disney Epic Mickey, the useful “cheats” are discoveries rather than button codes. Collecting film reels unlocks two classic cartoons, a specific Power Spark donation opens Walt Disney’s apartment, and exploration reveals pins, tickets, hidden Mickeys and visual references across Wasteland. This guide gives the exact Wii steps, rewards and edition warnings so you do not confuse them with Epic Mickey: Rebrushed mechanics.
Which version of Disney Epic Mickey does this guide cover?
These instructions are for Disney Epic Mickey on Wii, the original 2010 action-adventure platform game. Nintendo describes a world that Mickey changes with paint and paint thinner: painting can restore objects and help characters, while thinner can erase surfaces, alter routes and expose things hidden underneath. Your decisions affect characters, challenges and story outcomes, so exploration and problem-solving are the game’s real cheat system.

Epic Mickey: Rebrushed is a separate release. Its projector stages contain two reels rather than one, its Cinema reward table is different, and its stages can be replayed. A guide written for Rebrushed can therefore give you reel totals or reward thresholds that do not work in the Wii game.
Film reels: unlock the two hidden cartoons
Every 2D transition stage in the original Wii game contains one hidden film reel, according to the GameFAQs cheat entry. These side-scrolling projector stages connect major areas, so inspect each one instead of rushing to the exit. Reels are turned in at Mean Street to the cartoon character standing in front of the Movie Theater.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
| Wii film reels collected | Unlock | Where to watch it |
|---|---|---|
| 6 | Mickey Mouse’s The Mad Doctor | Main Menu → Extras |
| 14 | Oswald the Lucky Rabbit’s Oh What a Knight | Main Menu → Extras |
Exact reel procedure
- Enter every 2D projector transition stage you encounter.
- Search the stage for its single hidden reel before completing the exit objective.
- Return to Mean Street after collecting reels.
- Speak with the cartoon in front of the Movie Theater to turn them in.
- Once you reach six or fourteen, open the Main Menu and choose Extras to play the corresponding cartoon.
The thresholds above are for the original Wii edition. A separate Cheat Code Central Wii guide confirms the same six- and fourteen-reel rewards and describes using the cleared save for a second playthrough. Neither source is an official Nintendo cheat-code list; they are community and editorial gameplay guides.
How to enter Walt Disney’s apartment
Walt’s apartment is a hidden Mean Street area with a small, permanent reward. The entrance does not appear until you complete the required manor objective and help the Gremlin at the Penny Arcade.
Unlock sequence
- Finish Lonesome Manor.
- Return to Mean Street.
- Talk to the Gremlin at the Penny Arcade.
- Give the Gremlin 30 Power Sparks.
- After the donation, the Gremlin tells you that something has activated at the Fire Station.
- Go to the Fire Station and jump to the window above its door.
- Gus then offers entry; follow him inside.
Apartment rewards
The apartment contains one piece of concept art and two gold E-Tickets featuring Oswald. Together, the special tickets are worth 150 tickets. GameFAQs and Cheat Code Central both warn that these gold tickets do not reappear, so collect them when you first enter rather than expecting to farm them on later visits.

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
New Game+: what carries into a second playthrough?
Cheat Code Central’s Wii guide says to complete the game, load the cleared save file and begin another playthrough with previously collected items. The guide does not enumerate every retained item, nor does it establish that every quest state or paint/thinner story choice transfers. Treat New Game+ as a way to replay with some collection progress intact, not as proof that all decisions and missions carry over unchanged.
Edition check: original Wii versus Rebrushed
Use the table below when a search result appears to contradict the Wii instructions. The Rebrushed figures come from the Rebrushed section of a GameFAQs cheats reference and are not the reward rules for the 2010 game.
| Feature | Original Disney Epic Mickey (Wii) | Epic Mickey: Rebrushed |
|---|---|---|
| Reels in each 2D projector stage | One | Two |
| Reels available to turn in | Not stated in the cited Wii guides | 72 |
| Can completed projector stages be replayed? | Not established by the cited Wii material | Yes |
| Cinema reward table | Six reels: The Mad Doctor; fourteen: Oh What a Knight | Different reward list |
If your copy shows two reels in a projector stage or offers replayable stages, stop using the Wii thresholds and consult instructions specifically labeled for Rebrushed.

Pins, tickets and why exploration pays
Nintendo’s publisher description says the game contains over 75 virtual Disney pins. You earn them through challenges and quests, and by discovering hidden collectibles. Pins can be earned, traded or bought, according to game creator Warren Spector. They are not merely decorations: collecting and trading gives you another reason to revisit areas and investigate alternate routes.
Tickets form the everyday spending economy. Spector explained that tickets buy items, while erasing parts of the environment can reveal tickets even when doing so may upset a character. That is a central risk-and-reward decision: thinner may expose a useful reward, but the action can damage relationships or alter the state of a scene. Consider the consequence before erasing a surface in front of an important character.
A practical exploration routine
- Look above doors, behind scenery and along apparently dead-end platforms before leaving a room.
- Test paint on damaged or transparent objects and thinner on suspicious solid surfaces; the two tools can reveal different routes and rewards.
- Complete local challenges and quests before moving on, because Nintendo ties pins to both activities as well as hidden collectibles.
- Return to Mean Street regularly to turn in reels and spend or trade the resources you have earned.
- Record which projector stages you have searched. The Wii version’s one-reel-per-stage layout makes an unchecked transition the most likely reason a total is short.
Hidden Mickeys and Disney references
Warren Spector confirmed that the game includes hidden Mickeys and additional references to Disney attractions and films. Examples he mentioned include the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse and the Enchanted Tiki Room. His approach was deliberately exploratory: “Any time you get the chance to, put a hidden Mickey somewhere! I don’t even want to know where – because I want to find them!”

That statement confirms the references exist, but it is not a complete location index. No authoritative list of every hidden Mickey location is established here, so be wary of guides that present an exhaustive map without identifying their version and evidence. Search visually, use both paint and thinner, and inspect spaces that look decorative rather than purely functional.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Using walkthroughs without mixing versions
A detailed 2011 GameFAQs walkthrough is a useful route reference for the Wii release. It is community-authored, marked version 1.00 and updated January 3, 2011, so treat it as a period guide rather than an official Nintendo document. Cross-check any reel count, quest order or collectible claim against the fact that this article covers the original Wii game.

Troubleshooting common unlock problems
“I reached the Movie Theater, but no cartoon unlocked.”
Confirm that you actually turned the reels in to the cartoon in front of the theater. Simply carrying six or fourteen reels is not enough until the hand-in occurs. Also verify that you are playing the Wii version; Rebrushed uses a different Cinema reward table.
“The Fire Station window is not active.”
The activation follows the complete Lonesome Manor objective, a return to Mean Street and a 30-Power-Spark donation to the Penny Arcade Gremlin. If any one of those events is incomplete, the window sequence will not begin.
“The apartment tickets are gone.”
The two gold Oswald E-Tickets are one-time rewards and do not reappear according to both cited cheat guides. Their absence after collection is expected, not a respawn failure.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →“My reel total does not match an online guide.”
Check the edition first. One reel per projector stage identifies the original Wii structure; two reels per stage and replayable transitions identify Rebrushed. Do not apply Rebrushed’s 72-reel total or reward table to the Wii release.
“I expected a button-code cheat.”
The documented Wii material describes unlock conditions, collectibles and save behavior rather than a universal button-input code. Paint/thinner choices, reel searches and Power Spark management are the intended ways to open content.
