Ursula’s Return is a 2024 Disney Lorcana set with starter decks, booster packs and an Illumineer’s Trove. It arrived in hobby stores and Disney Parks on May 17, 2024, then in mass retail and on DisneyStore.com on May 31, 2024. Its companion product, Illumineer’s Quest: Deep Trouble, is a separate solo or cooperative challenge against Ursula—not another standard set box.
What is Ursula’s Return?
Ursula’s Return is a Disney Lorcana Trading Card Game set built around a story conflict with Ursula. Ravensburger’s set page frames the story as a powerful Ursula glimmer being unleashed from the Great Illuminary, setting her plans in motion. The publisher described the set as adding new franchises and characters, gameplay developments and further Lorcana story material; those are Ravensburger’s descriptions of the release, not an independent assessment.
The official set page presents starter decks, booster packs and the Illumineer’s Trove. A player needs a 60-card deck to play. The product lineup also includes Illumineer’s Quest: Deep Trouble, which uses Lorcana cards in a distinct scenario against Ursula rather than serving as a regular booster or starter product.
When did Ursula’s Return release?
The 2024 launch had two dates tied to retail channel. Ravensburger listed May 17 for hobby stores and Disney Parks, followed by May 31 for mass retailers and DisneyStore.com. These are historical release dates, not a current release schedule.

Which Ursula’s Return product is right for you?
| Product | What it is for | What is included or specified |
|---|---|---|
| Starter decks | A ready-made entry point for playing Lorcana. | The set page lists starter decks; the page says a player needs a 60-card deck. The supplied product details do not specify individual deck contents. |
| Booster packs | Adding randomized cards to a collection or deck-building pool. | The set page lists booster packs. The Trove contains eight randomized booster packs, each with 12 additional game cards. |
| Illumineer’s Trove | A bundle combining boosters with storage and play accessories. | One card storage box, six dividers, eight randomized 12-card booster packs, six damage-counter dice and one lore counter. |
| Illumineer’s Quest: Deep Trouble | A structured solo or cooperative encounter against Ursula. | An oversized Ursula card, a 50-card Ursula scenario deck, two prebuilt 60-card Lorcana decks and two oversized double-sided battleground cards. |
Deep Trouble is an Illumineer’s Quest, a separate experience from the main set products. Ravensburger describes it for solo play or for players teaming up against Ursula. Its 50-card scenario deck is Ursula’s encounter deck; it is distinct from each of the two included 60-card player decks. The official page does not establish a maximum team size, so no player-count limit should be assumed.
What does the Illumineer’s Trove contain?
The Trove is the set’s combined card-storage, booster and accessory product. Its contents, as listed by Ravensburger, are:

The listed contents make the Trove different from a starter deck: it includes booster packs and organizing and game accessories, but the official contents listed here do not include a player-ready 60-card deck. If you are beginning Lorcana, check the contents of the specific product you choose against the 60-card deck requirement.
What is Illumineer’s Quest: Deep Trouble?
Deep Trouble sets up Ursula as an opponent for solo play or a team. Its box contents pair two prebuilt player decks with a dedicated 50-card Ursula scenario deck and battleground cards. Ravensburger described it as a first-of-its-kind Illumineer’s Quest and said Ursula’s power increases during the encounter. That escalating threat is part of the publisher’s presentation of the game mode; the product is not simply a standard Ursula’s Return card bundle.

Which characters were highlighted?
Ravensburger’s May 15, 2024 set-overview video description calls attention to Bruno and the Madrigal family, Mickey Mouse and Yen Sid. These are selected highlights, not a complete character or franchise roster. The available product overview does not establish every card or character in the set, so it should not be treated as a card-by-card reveal.
