Spoilers through the end of Episode 7, “Retrospective.” The pivotal decision is whether Robert cuts or defends Invisigal: the walkthroughs report consequences for team morale and Episode 8 readiness. Her fate on the team is separate from the romance choices that follow. This guide walks through the episode in order and distinguishes major route decisions from dialogue that mainly changes a response, callback, or scene detail.
What happens in Episode 7
“Retrospective” follows the events that leave Chase in the infirmary and Invisigal suspended. Robert revisits a childhood memory, speaks with Blonde Blazer at the hospital, works a dispatch shift without Invisigal, and faces a team vote about her future. A private conversation with Invisigal reveals what happened to the Mecha Man suit; later, Robert makes a press statement, encounters Shroud, and talks with Blazer after his rescue.
The walkthroughs used here are secondary guides, not official game documentation. Where they disagree about hidden counters or the precise effect of a line, the distinction is noted rather than treated as a confirmed universal mechanic.
Choices before the team vote
1. Choose an item in Chase’s store flashback
Young Robert can choose Twinkies, beer, or a cigar. Gamepressure reports that the selection does not otherwise alter the story; beer provides a callback to an earlier episode. The walkthroughs also associate this moment with an achievement for choosing the least popular option. Tpose Gaming notes that the least popular choice is revealed in the episode-end results and that popularity can change, so this is guide-reported trophy advice, not a fixed choice to memorize. 2. Talk about Chase in the hospital
Robert can say Chase was like a brother, that he should have kept in touch, or that he was lost for a while. The guides report no later event change from these options. Choose the line that fits how you want Robert to describe their history.
3. Answer Blonde Blazer about Invisigal
When Blazer asks about Invisigal, Robert can say “She really f*cked up,” “Might make things worse,” or “I’ll get back to you.” Guides say Blazer remembers or is influenced by the response, but it does not lock the later team vote. It is characterization, not the vote itself.
4. Respond to Waterboy about Chase
Robert can agree that Chase did the right thing, disagree, or say he is unsure. Gamepressure and Tpose Gaming describe this exchange as having no later consequence.
What to know about the dispatch shift
The shift takes place without Invisigal and is a gameplay sequence rather than a major narrative branch. Calls use hero attributes such as mobility, intellect, vigor, and combat, so dispatch choices should be made around the available heroes’ strengths. Tpose Gaming specifically warns that choosing Waterboy’s “Absorb the water” option during “The Floodening” fails that call but unlocks a harder later call. Treat that as a tactical trade-off, not a dialogue route outcome. Tpose Gaming’s walkthrough.

The team vote: cut or defend Invisigal
This is Episode 7’s central decision. The team discusses Invisigal’s mistakes, and Robert chooses Cut her or Defend her. Earlier choices can influence who supports her during the discussion, according to the walkthroughs.
| Choice | Reported consequence | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Cut her | Guides report higher team morale and a full-strength team for Episode 8’s dispatch phase. | Invisigal’s team route ends, removing the possibility of her later assistance described by the guides. |
| Defend her | Guides report lower morale. Heroes who oppose Robert operate as if injured; Gamepressure says this penalty cannot be healed. With a favorable relationship, the guides say Invisigal can help in Episode 8. | The team takes a readiness penalty in exchange for preserving her route. Tpose Gaming also says defending her is required for the good ending. |
The morale, readiness, assist, and ending details above are reported by Gamepressure and Tpose Gaming; the available sources do not include official developer documentation confirming hidden mechanics or thresholds. If your priority is immediate team strength, cutting her is the guide-reported advantage. If you want the possibility of her help and the route these guides associate with the good ending, defend her.
Invisigal’s confession and the romance choices
5. Choose how Robert reacts to the vote
The first response in the private conversation varies with the vote. Reported lines include “I care about you,” “You gave me no choice” or “It’s not your fault,” and “They decided, not me” or “I don’t want this.” Gamepressure says this first response does not decide the larger fate choice; Tpose Gaming reports that dialogue can affect counters. The line may therefore matter at a smaller level even though it is not the decision about whether she stays on the team.
6. Hear what happened to the suit
Invisigal admits she planted the bomb that destroyed the Mecha Man suit. She says Shroud manipulated her into a deal connected to her debt and health treatment. This revelation explains her role in the earlier events and sets up the choices that follow.

7. Decide whether to forgive her
Robert can say “I don’t know what to feel,” “We’re done,” or “I forgive you.” The guides describe forgiveness as supporting a closer relationship route; “We’re done” ends the romance possibility. The team vote and this relationship decision are separate: one does not substitute for the other.
8. Lean in or lean out
If the romance scene occurs, Robert can lean in or lean out. Gamepressure and Tpose Gaming describe leaning in as pursuing the Invisigal romance and leaning out as ending it. This is the clearest romantic commitment in the scene, but it does not decide whether she remains on the team.

9. Choose whom Blazer names to the press
In the car, Blazer asks whether to tell the press about Track Star or Invisigal. The visible statement changes, and Gamepressure says it affects Blazer’s later television dialogue and may interact with the cut-or-defend decision. Tpose Gaming says nobody remembers the selection, but reports a Good Mentor Point change if Robert names Invisigal. Because the guides differ on the mechanic, treat the statement and TV-line change as the observable effect; the counter detail is Tpose Gaming’s report, not a settled account across guides.
10. Handle the bartender and the confrontation
At the bar, Robert can ask the bartender to change the subject, tell him off, or ask for another drink. He can then glass the bartender or let it go. Gamepressure says this second choice changes the scene slightly without changing its broad outcome; Tpose Gaming reports alignment-counter effects for the alternatives. The guides do not establish that either option creates a major Episode 7 branch.

A character who was previously removed from the team attacks Robert, and he wakes in Shroud’s custody. During the encounter, Robert can spit in Shroud’s face, deny having what Shroud wants, or threaten him. The guides say Shroud remembers the response, but do not establish a major Episode 7 branch resulting from it.
Rescue and the final conversation with Blazer
11. Respond after Blazer rescues Robert
Robert can thank Blazer, question why she came without backup, or express surprise. Gamepressure reports that this response does not affect their relationship.
12. Tell Blazer what you think about Invisigal
In the final conversation, Robert can say Invisigal is planning something, ask who cares, or say he trusts her. Gamepressure and NoobFeed say Blazer remembers the answer; Tpose Gaming associates “I trust her” with the supportive path. Choose it if that best fits Robert’s stance, rather than treating it as an objectively optimal option for every playthrough. The episode closes with the wider Astral Pulse conflict escalating toward Episode 8.
Quick decision map
- Want a stronger team for Episode 8? The guides report that cutting Invisigal raises morale and leaves the team at full strength.
- Want to preserve the possibility of Invisigal helping later? Defend her; the guides tie her assistance to a favorable relationship as well.
- Want the Invisigal romance? Forgive her and, if the scene occurs, lean in. These are relationship choices, not the team vote.
- Want to role-play Robert without chasing a particular route? Several conversations mainly shape remembered responses, characterization, or scene details rather than the central branch.
