His new job is not a quiet administrative role. He must coordinate a team made up of former supervillains, send the right people to emergencies and keep an unstable workplace from falling apart. That premise supplies the comedy: heroic language sits beside office politics, damaged egos and the practical problem of getting unreliable colleagues to do useful work.
The game alternates between authored story scenes and interactive management. In narrative sections you select dialogue and responses that can alter relationships, allegiances and the route the story takes. On the strategy map you decide how to deploy available heroes to emergencies. Roster decisions and progression then affect who is ready, who is committed and which options remain open.

Starting as Mecha Man and continuing as a dispatcher gives the story a useful point of view. Robert understands the superhero world personally, yet he is no longer solving every problem with a suit and a gadget. He has to influence people, weigh risks and live with decisions made from a control room. That shift lets the game examine heroism as coordination rather than spectacle.
A team of former supervillains
The dispatch center’s roster is deliberately difficult. These are not an interchangeable set of flawless champions; they are former supervillains whose motives, histories and loyalties complicate every assignment. Putting one of them on an emergency can solve an immediate crisis while creating a longer-term relationship problem. Keeping another person in reserve may protect a fragile alliance but leave a later call under-resourced.

Nintendo Life reviewer Jim Norman specifically praises the writing and voice acting. That is a critic’s assessment rather than a measured statistic, but it identifies the game’s strongest reason to play: scenes are designed to be watched and heard, not rushed through on the way to combat.

Read the emergency, then commit a hero
Emergencies appear on a strategy map, and you choose which available hero to deploy. The decision is about more than sending the most powerful person. Availability, team composition, personal loyalties and the consequences of a choice all matter. The sensible expectation is a cleaner, smoother presentation than the edition Nintendo is positioning as the baseline, especially in animated scenes and camera movement. Whether the difference is obvious on your television or in handheld mode will depend on display size, viewing distance and your sensitivity to motion; the official pages do not quantify it.

Nintendo’s product page carries an explicit notice: “Some mature content from Dispatch’s original version has been modified.” Nintendo Life’s launch review discusses scenes being obscured in the Switch release. In the review’s account, Jim Norman asked AdHoc Studio about the setting and quoted the studio’s explanation:
“Different platforms have different content criteria, and submissions are evaluated individually. For our Switch release, we worked with Nintendo to adapt certain elements so Dispatch could be on their platform.”
That quotation is AdHoc Studio’s statement as printed by Nintendo Life, not a Nintendo statement. It explains why the Switch 2 presentation can differ from another platform’s version without implying that every scene or all mature material was removed.
The HR Violations Pack and regional timing
Nintendo Australia currently lists a free HR Violations Pack for Switch. The listing describes partial or full coverage settings and three visual styles: Mosaic, Chaotic and Blackout. It also says the pack does not apply to the digital artbook or comics.
Availability and behavior can change by region and over time, so check the live storefront for your account before relying on the add-on. The existence of the pack does not erase Nintendo’s notice that content was modified for the Switch release; it is an additional settings option listed by the Australian storefront, not evidence that every version has identical content presentation.
