disrvpp.dll is a legacy file associated with Eicon Networks Diva communications software, not a normal Windows component. If Windows reports that disrvpp.dll is missing, not found, or could not be loaded, repair the original Diva installation rather than downloading a replacement DLL.
The file has been associated with older Diva for Windows and Diva Server software used with ISDN adapters, fax systems, CAPI applications, telephony tools, and related hardware. Dialogic later maintained the Diva product line. Fix 1: Identify the Diva software before changing anything
Time needed: 5–10 minutes
The filename alone cannot prove which installer belongs on your computer. First find the program, startup entry, or hardware that is trying to load it.
Check installed applications
- Press Windows + I.
- Select Apps.
- Select Installed apps on Windows 11, or Apps & features on Windows 10.
- Search for:
- Diva
- Eicon
- Dialogic
- ISDN
- CAPI
- fax or telephony software associated with an old adapter
- Select a matching entry and choose Uninstall only if you are certain the hardware and application are no longer needed.
You can also check the older interface:
- Press Windows + R.
- Type
appwiz.cpland press Enter. - Look for Diva, Eicon, Dialogic, or communications software in Programs and Features.
Do not uninstall the package yet if you still use an ISDN adapter, fax service, CAPI application, or telephone-management program. Record its name and version first, and back up any configuration or license information.

Check what launches the error
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
- Select Startup apps.
- Look for a Diva, Eicon, Dialogic, fax, CAPI, or telephony entry.
- Right-click a suspicious entry and select Open file location, if available.
If the error appears only when starting one older application, right-click that application, select Properties, and note its Target path. The parent program is more useful than the DLL filename when selecting the correct repair package.
Fix 2: Reinstall the original Diva driver package
Time needed: 15–30 minutes
This is the most likely fix when the error appears while launching Diva utilities, fax software, CAPI programs, or hardware-management tools.
Use Dialogic’s official software-download system or the original installation media. The download must match the Diva adapter model and the Windows version for which that legacy package was designed. Dialogic’s historical documentation covers older Windows releases, including Windows 2000, XP, Vista, and Windows 7. Do not assume that every old package supports Windows 10 or Windows 11.
- Open Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
- Find the existing Diva, Eicon, or Dialogic package.
- Select the three-dot menu and choose Uninstall.
- Follow the removal wizard.
- Restart Windows.
- Run the official Diva installer, commonly started through
Setup.exeafter extracting the package. - Accept the driver installation prompts only when the package is clearly intended for your adapter.
- Restart again, even if the installer does not require it.
- Start the original Diva application or the program that displayed the error.
If the installer offers Repair, use that before removing the package. If it reports that the hardware is absent, shut down the computer, reconnect the adapter if appropriate, and then repeat the installation.

Check the device in Device Manager
- Right-click Start and select Device Manager.
- Expand Network adapters, Modems, Sound, video and game controllers, and Other devices.
- Look for an Eicon, Diva, Dialogic, ISDN, or unknown device with a warning icon.
- Right-click it and choose Properties.
- Read the message under Device status.
- Select the Driver tab to view the provider, date, and installed files.
- Use Update driver only with the correct vendor package already downloaded.
- If the device is no longer used, right-click it, select Uninstall device, and restart.
Do not remove a working communications device if the computer still depends on it for faxing, telephony, or ISDN access.

Fix 3: Check whether antivirus software quarantined the file
Time needed: 5–15 minutes
A missing DLL may have been deleted or quarantined rather than removed by an uninstall.

- Open Windows Security from the Start menu.
- Select Virus & threat protection.
- Select Protection history.
- Review recent detections involving the Diva installation folder or
disrvpp.dll. - Open a detection to view its path, threat classification, and available actions.
Do not select Restore or Allow on device merely because an application now reports that the DLL is missing. First confirm that the file belonged to the Diva installation, that the installer came from an official source, and that the file’s path and signature are consistent with that package.
If the file appears legitimate, reinstall the complete Diva package instead of restoring only the DLL. If Windows Security identifies malware, leave the file quarantined and complete a scan before reinstalling any related software.
Fix 4: Verify the file path, signature, and architecture
Time needed: 10 minutes
A genuine legacy component should normally be located inside the Diva program or driver installation directory. A copy found in a temporary folder, Downloads, or an unexpected user-writable directory deserves extra scrutiny.
If a copy of the file still exists:
- Right-click
disrvpp.dll. - Select Properties.
- Open the General tab and record the complete location.
- Open Details and review the file description, product information, and version fields.
- Open Digital Signatures, if the tab exists.
- Select a signature and choose Details.
- Confirm that Windows reports the signature as valid.
The public metadata associated with this filename reports a 32-bit PE/DLL classification and a version that has appeared in third-party records, but those values are identification clues, not a universal replacement specification. The documented Diva client software was built for 32-bit Windows environments.

Fix 5: Repair Windows components only if the installer or Windows is also damaged
Time needed: 15–30 minutes
Windows repair commands will not recreate a missing third-party Diva file. They are useful when Windows components are corrupted, the installer fails unexpectedly, or several applications show unrelated system-file errors.
- Open Start.
- Type Command Prompt.
- Select Run as administrator.
- Run this command:
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
- Wait for it to complete.
- Then run:
sfc /scannow
- Restart Windows.
- Retry the Diva installer or the affected application.
The successful result is a completion message stating that Windows repaired corrupted components, or that no integrity violations were found. If either command reports that it could not complete, restart and run the same sequence again. Persistent failures may indicate a broader Windows servicing problem.

Check Windows Features only for a dependency issue
Diva software may use older Windows networking or communications components, but enabling random features will not replace disrvpp.dll.
- Press Windows + R.
- Type
optionalfeaturesand press Enter. - Review the available Windows Features.
- Do not enable legacy components unless the Diva documentation or the application specifically requires them.
- Select OK only after confirming the required feature.
If the affected application is a very old 32-bit program, compatibility problems may remain even after a successful installation.
Fix 6: Use System Restore if the problem began after a change
Time needed: 20–45 minutes
System Restore is appropriate when the error began immediately after uninstalling Diva software, replacing hardware, installing an update, or changing drivers.
- Press Windows + R.
- Type
rstrui.exeand press Enter. - Select Next.
- Choose a restore point dated before the change.
- Select Scan for affected programs if available.
- Confirm the restore point and select Finish.
- Allow Windows to restart.
System Restore rolls back system settings, drivers, and installed programs. It does not normally remove personal documents. Afterward, test the original application and reinstall the correct Diva package if necessary.

Fix 7: Remove Diva if the hardware is obsolete
Time needed: 10–20 minutes
If you no longer use the Diva adapter, ISDN service, fax software, CAPI applications, or telephony tools, removing the obsolete package is safer than restoring an isolated DLL.
- Open Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
- Uninstall Diva, Eicon, Dialogic, and related fax or telephony software.
- Restart.
- Open Task Manager > Startup apps.
- Disable an orphaned Diva or communications startup entry.
- Open Device Manager.
- Remove an unused Diva device if it remains listed.
- Restart once more.
If the error continues after removal, another application or scheduled task may still reference the old installation. Check the error’s application name and path, then uninstall or repair that parent application rather than copying disrvpp.dll into Windows folders.
Why downloading or registering the DLL is usually wrong
Do not download disrvpp.dll from a random DLL repository. The file may have the wrong version, wrong architecture, missing dependencies, altered contents, or no relationship to the Diva package installed on your computer. Copying it into C:WindowsSystem32, C:WindowsSysWOW64, or an application folder can create loader conflicts and security risk.
regsvr32 is also not a general missing-DLL repair command. It applies to DLLs that expose registration entry points such as DllRegisterServer. A runtime or driver component that is missing, incompatible, or loaded by an old application will not normally be repaired by registration.

Which program installed it?
Public records associate it with Diva for Windows and Diva Server for Windows 2000, but those records disagree on the exact product naming. Identify the parent application, installation folder, and hardware before choosing a package.
Is it a 32-bit or 64-bit file?
The documented legacy Diva client line was 32-bit, and public metadata classifies this filename as a 32-bit DLL. That does not make every file with this name interchangeable.
Will Windows Update replace it?
