Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteNo—not while a Vehicle is only an artifact. But if you crew it and it becomes a creature, the normal summoning-sickness rule applies: unless it has haste, it generally cannot attack that turn if it has not been under your control continuously since your turn began.
When does summoning sickness apply to a Vehicle?
Summoning sickness is an informal name for the rule that restricts creatures. An uncrewed Vehicle is an artifact, not a creature, so this restriction does not prevent it from attacking in its uncrewed state—though it cannot attack unless it becomes a creature through an effect such as crew.
Crew is an activated ability. When it resolves, the Vehicle becomes an artifact creature until end of turn. From then on, use the ordinary creature rule to determine whether it can attack. The key test is whether you have controlled it continuously since your most recent turn began; haste can let it attack even when that test is not met. Other effects may also restrict whether it can attack.
Can a Vehicle played this turn attack after you crew it?
Normally, no. If the Vehicle entered under your control this turn, crewing it makes it a creature, but does not bypass the control-time requirement. Without haste or another effect that changes the result, it cannot attack that turn.

A Vehicle you controlled continuously since your turn began can be crewed and attack that turn, assuming no other restriction prevents it.
Can a creature with summoning sickness crew a Vehicle?
Yes. A creature with summoning sickness can be tapped to pay a Vehicle’s crew cost. The restriction prevents that creature from attacking and from activating its own abilities with a tap or untap symbol in the cost; it does not prohibit tapping it to pay another permanent’s crew ability.

What the rules say
The maintained Magic Judges Rules Resources Comprehensive Rules, reported effective September 25, 2026, gives the relevant rules. Rule 302.6 says a creature cannot attack unless it has been under its controller’s control continuously since that player’s most recent turn began, with haste as an exception. Rule 702.122a defines crew as tapping other untapped creatures you control with total power at least the crew number; when the ability resolves, the Vehicle becomes an artifact creature until end of turn.
This is the general rule. A specific card’s text or another effect can change the outcome, so check the relevant wording when a particular game state is in question.
