It depends on which Call of Duty era you mean. In the MWII-era Warzone 2.0 ecosystem, MWII mastery camos were usable on their corresponding MWII weapons in MWII and Warzone 2.0, including DMZ. Those camos later carried forward to MWIII, but could not be equipped on MWIII weapons. For the current Warzone carry-forward plan announced for Modern Warfare 4 Season 1, Activision said legacy weapon camos would not be available.
What “transfer” means for mastery camos
Owning or carrying an unlock into another game does not necessarily let you equip it on every weapon. The relevant questions are which Warzone iteration you mean, whether you mean an unlock carrying forward or a camo being equipable, and whether the target is an MWII weapon or a later game’s weapon.

MWII and Warzone 2.0: linked camo use
At Warzone 2.0’s 2022 launch, Activision said its weapons, progression, and inventory systems would be tied to MWII. In that ecosystem, MWII mastery camos could be used on the corresponding MWII weapons in MWII and Warzone 2.0. DMZ was introduced as part of Warzone 2.0, and MWII-era event materials included DMZ and Warzone activities connected to camo rewards. Activision’s MWII and Warzone 2.0 Season 01 overview
This was not a rule for every Call of Duty game called Warzone: Warzone Caldera was separate and did not receive MWII/Warzone 2.0 content.

MWII camos carried into MWIII, but stayed on MWII weapons
MWII’s Gold, Platinum, Polyatomic, and Orion completionist camos carried forward into MWIII. That did not make them usable on MWIII weapons: the camo remained restricted to the MWII weapon for which it was unlocked. Activision’s Carry Forward FAQ states: “Modern Warfare II Completionist Camos cannot be placed onto MWIII weapons, or vice versa.”
Current Warzone: legacy weapon camos excluded from the announced plan
Do not apply the earlier MWII-to-MWIII rule to current Warzone. In a correction dated September 24, 2026, Activision said legacy weapon camos would not be available under the announced Modern Warfare 4 Season 1 carry-forward arrangement. The sources establish DMZ’s historical place in the Warzone 2.0 ecosystem and its connection to MWII-era event activities. They do not establish whether DMZ is currently playable, so its present service availability cannot be inferred from the historical camo rules.
