Yes, but not every Zora weapon comes back in the same way. A Zora weapon taken from a recurring surface enemy can be obtained again after that enemy returns with a Blood Moon. A Zora Spear awarded by the Mired in Muck quest and weapons found in chests are treated as one-time sources instead. Pristine Zora weapons use a separate Depths method involving Shadow Soldiers and a prerequisite decayed weapon. The Lightscale Trident is different again: it is a crafted Champion weapon made through Dento’s quest after the Water Temple, not an ordinary enemy drop.
Which Zora weapons actually respawn?
“Respawn” depends on where the weapon came from. In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, the practical categories are recurring enemy equipment, quest rewards, chest loot, pristine Depths weapons, and the specially crafted Lightscale Trident. Treating all five as one loot system is what causes most confusion.

| Source or weapon state | Can you obtain it again? | How the next copy is obtained |
|---|---|---|
| Decayed Zora weapon held by a recurring surface enemy | Yes, according to the gameplay guide cited for this mechanic | Defeat the enemy, then return after a Blood Moon when the enemy has returned |
| Zora Spear from Mired in Muck | Not as a repeatable quest reward | Use a recurring enemy carrying a Zora Spear instead |
| Zora weapons in ordinary chests | No dependable repeat at the same chest | Find another source; the cited guide characterizes chest sources as one-offs |
| Pristine Zora weapon in the Depths | Yes, through the Shadow Soldier route described by the guide | Break the corresponding decayed weapon first, then search for a Shadow Soldier after a Red Moon reset |
| Lightscale Trident | It has a special crafted replacement route | Complete Dento’s Glory of the Zora quest with the required materials after the Water Temple |
The reset names are kept separate here because the sources describe them separately: the surface-enemy route uses a Blood Moon, while the pristine-weapon guide calls the Depths reset a Red Moon. The mechanic-specific information comes from gameplay guides rather than an official Nintendo explanation of respawn rules.

The repeatable route is an enemy-carried weapon, not a particular chest or a completed quest reward. The cited guide gives a Lizalfos carrying a Zora Spear as an example. The important feature is that the enemy is part of the recurring world population and visibly holds the weapon before the fight.

- Locate a recurring enemy carrying the Zora weapon. Confirm that the weapon is in the enemy’s hands or otherwise part of its equipment before defeating it. A Zora Spear held by a Lizalfos is the guide’s example.
- Defeat the enemy and collect the weapon. This copy is the ordinary, decayed-world version, not the pristine variant found in the Depths.
- Use the weapon or store it as needed. Keep a note of the enemy’s location if you intend to farm more copies; the repeat depends on returning to the enemy’s spawn area, not revisiting the original pickup animation.
- Wait for a Blood Moon. The guide states that enemy-held weapons return when the enemy returns after a Blood Moon.
- Revisit the location after the reset. If the same recurring enemy has respawned, check its equipment and collect the replacement weapon.
This is a source-based respawn loop: the enemy is the renewable source. It does not mean that every Zora weapon in the world is globally regenerated, nor that a quest chest is refilled. If the enemy does not visibly carry the weapon on the later visit, verify that you have returned after the relevant Blood Moon and that you are checking the same kind of recurring enemy described by the guide.
Why the Mired in Muck Zora Spear is not a farming source
The Zora Spear associated with Mired in Muck is a quest reward. Completing the quest gives you that reward, but the guide does not present the reward as something that is issued repeatedly after a Blood Moon. Once you have claimed it, use an enemy-carried Zora Spear for repeat acquisitions.
That distinction matters when planning a build or replacing a broken weapon. A quest marker can identify how to obtain the first copy, but it is not evidence that the reward container or NPC dialogue will produce a second copy. The same caution applies to ordinary chest placements: the cited guide describes those chest sources as one-offs, so returning to the opened chest is not a dependable farming method.

How pristine Zora weapons work in the Depths
A pristine Zora weapon is not simply the same item appearing in a better condition after a Blood Moon. The guide-reported route uses a Shadow Soldier in the Depths and has a prerequisite involving the corresponding decayed weapon on the surface.

- Ultrahand: Using the new Ultrahand ability, Link can pick up, move, and rotate almost any object, and can even attach objects together to create bridges, vehicles, and more!
- Fuse: Magically fuse almost any object to Link’s current weapon, shield, or arrow to increase durability, damage, or even add a new effect. Experiment with lots of different combinations to come up with surprising—and sometimes hilarious—results!
- Ascend: Add a new dimension to your exploration with Ascend, which gives Link the ability to pass through solid objects above him. Rise up through ceilings, hillsides, and even certain enemies to create seemingly impossible shortcuts.
- Recall: Use Recall to make objects in motion move backward through time, letting Link ride fallen boulders skyward, recover thrown weapons, or send projectiles back where they came from.
Prerequisite: break a decayed copy
GameWith’s guide says that you must first break a decayed Zora Spear on the surface before the pristine Zora Spear becomes available through the described Depths weapon pool. If you are searching Shadow Soldiers without having satisfied that prerequisite, the desired pristine spear may not appear in the route the guide documents.
The prerequisite is about the weapon type, not the chest or quest that supplied it. A decayed Zora Spear from a recurring enemy is therefore useful even if your long-term goal is a pristine spear. The guide’s wording is specific to the pristine-Zora-Spear process; do not automatically generalize it to every weapon in the game without checking the relevant weapon’s rules.
Find the Shadow Soldier’s weapon
After breaking the required decayed copy, search the Depths for a Shadow Soldier holding the pristine Zora weapon. Shadow Soldiers are the source described for the pristine spear. When you find the desired weapon, take it from the soldier and leave the location recorded for future runs.
Reset the Shadow Soldier
The same guide says Shadow Soldiers respawn during the Red Moon. Return after that reset and check the soldier’s position again for another available weapon. Because this is guide-reported gameplay information rather than an official Nintendo statement, treat the exact availability as a practical method documented by the guide, not as a published Nintendo specification.

Lightscale Trident: a crafted weapon with its own replacement path
The Lightscale Trident should be handled separately from ordinary Zora weapons. It is a special Champion weapon made through Dento’s quest, so searching Lizalfos or Shadow Soldiers for a naturally spawned Lightscale Trident will not follow the normal weapon routes.
Unlock requirements
- Complete the Water Temple. The guide places the crafting route after this story milestone.
- Speak with Dento. He provides access to the Glory of the Zora quest.
- Complete Glory of the Zora. This is the quest path used to make the Lightscale Trident.
Materials listed for the craft
| Material | Quantity |
|---|---|
| Zora Spear | 1 |
| Flint | 5 |
| Diamond | 3 |
The quantities above are gameplay requirements reported by Gamer Guides, not statistics or prices. Keep a Zora Spear available when you begin the quest route; if you are short on spears, the recurring-enemy method is the repeatable source described earlier. The guide frames the Trident’s replacement path through Dento’s quest rather than as an ordinary world spawn.
Choosing the right route
Use the source category to decide what to do next:
- You want a normal, decayed Zora Spear quickly: locate the recurring Lizalfos example or another enemy documented as carrying the weapon, defeat it, and return after a Blood Moon.
- You are trying to repeat the Mired in Muck reward: stop searching the quest reward location. Treat that reward as a one-time acquisition and switch to an enemy source.
- You want a pristine version: break the required decayed Zora weapon first, then use the Depths Shadow Soldier route and return after the Red Moon reset described by the guide.
- You need the Lightscale Trident: gather one Zora Spear, five Flint, and three Diamonds, then use Dento’s post-Water-Temple Glory of the Zora quest.
Troubleshooting a missing replacement
The enemy came back, but the weapon did not
Check the enemy’s equipment rather than assuming that every member of the same broad species carries the same item. The repeatable claim applies to an enemy that actually carries the Zora weapon. Also make sure the return happened after the Blood Moon named by the guide; simply leaving the area and coming back is not the documented reset.

That is consistent with the chest source being a one-off. Do not treat the opened chest as a renewable inventory. Find a recurring enemy source or, for a pristine weapon, use the Shadow Soldier method instead.
Rank #4
No pristine spear appears in the Depths
Review the order of operations: the guide requires the corresponding decayed weapon to be broken first. Then search the Shadow Soldier route after the Red Moon reset. The pristine method is separate from the ordinary surface-enemy loop.
Dento will not make the Lightscale Trident
Confirm that the Water Temple is complete, that you have spoken with Dento, and that Glory of the Zora is the active quest path. Check your materials against the listed recipe: one Zora Spear, five Flint, and three Diamonds.
What is officially documented?
Nintendo’s Explorer’s Guide establishes the game’s Zora setting and Mipha context, but the surfaced material does not specify weapon respawn rules. The Blood Moon enemy loop, the one-off chest characterization, the pristine-weapon prerequisite, and the Shadow Soldier reset come from gameplay guides: Gamer Guides for the ordinary Zora-weapon and Lightscale-Trident routes, and GameWith for the pristine Zora Spear route.

The methods are practical guide instructions, not official Nintendo documentation promising a universal respawn rule for every Zora weapon. Within those limits, the answer is clear: enemy-carried ordinary weapons can be reacquired after the documented reset, quest and chest sources are not dependable repeats, pristine weapons use the Depths route, and the Lightscale Trident is remade through Dento.
