Yes. YouTube requires a channel to be verified before it can live stream. For computer live streaming, YouTube lists phone verification as an intermediate feature-access requirement. India’s separate “phone verified” label is voluntary; it is not a special permit for 24/7 broadcasting.
What verification means for an Indian channel
There are two related but distinct things to understand:
- Phone verification for feature access: YouTube’s live-streaming guidance requires a verified channel, and its feature-access table lists computer live streaming under features unlocked through phone verification. You verify using a phone number that receives a code by text or voice call. YouTube says one phone number can be associated with no more than two channels per year. YouTube’s phone-verification instructions explain the process.
- India’s public “phone verified” label: YouTube says an India-based channel may voluntarily obtain this label. It appears on the channel’s About page and is visible to users in India. YouTube says it added the label to comply with the Information Technology (Guidelines for Intermediaries and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021. The label is not presented as special permission to broadcast continuously. YouTube’s India-specific help page describes it.
In short, a creator should meet YouTube’s ordinary live-streaming eligibility and feature-access requirements. Do not treat the public India label as a substitute for those requirements or as legal approval for a 24/7 stream.
Other YouTube live-stream eligibility requirements
YouTube’s current guidance says a creator must be at least 16 years old, have a verified channel, and have had no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. Phone verification unlocks intermediate features, including computer live streaming with a limited daily limit. YouTube’s feature-access table associates advanced access—available through sufficient channel history or valid ID/video verification—with a higher daily limit. Check the channel’s Feature eligibility screen in YouTube Studio before scheduling a long broadcast, because access and limits can vary by channel. YouTube’s feature-access table sets out the tiers; its live-streaming eligibility guidance covers the basic requirements.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Phone verification alone does not guarantee continued access: restrictions or a policy issue can still affect a channel’s ability to stream. Nor does verification automatically enable monetization. YouTube says creators must apply to and be accepted into the YouTube Partner Programme, follow its channel monetization policies, and meet requirements for the particular monetization feature they want to use. YouTube’s monetization guidance explains those separate conditions.
What changes when the stream runs for 24 hours
YouTube’s cited live-stream guidance does not describe a separate verification tier for 24/7 broadcasts. The major platform caveat is instead what happens to the recording and rewind features after 12 hours:

- YouTube says a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. Do not assume a 24-hour broadcast will become a complete replay in your channel’s archive.
- DVR, which lets viewers rewind a live stream, may be limited or unavailable on streams longer than 12 hours.
- YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived; its encoder instructions likewise describe automatic archiving for streams under 12 hours. That is not a promise that a stream over 12 hours will be saved.
If keeping a complete recording matters, make a separate local recording and check that it is being saved while the broadcast runs. YouTube’s guidance is conditional beyond 12 hours, so a channel archive should not be your only copy. See YouTube’s archive guidance, its DVR guidance, and the encoder streaming instructions.
Starting an eligible stream from a computer
An encoder is one way to produce a stream; it is not a verification requirement in itself. YouTube’s documented flow uses the stream URL and stream key from Live Control Room in the encoder. The exact encoder controls depend on the software or service you use.

- Verify the channel and check access. Complete phone verification, then open YouTube Studio’s Feature eligibility screen and confirm that live streaming is available. Check for restrictions before planning the broadcast.
- Open Live Control Room. In YouTube Studio, choose Create > Go live and set up the stream. Follow the on-screen prompts for the stream’s details and visibility.
- Connect the encoder. Copy the stream URL and stream key from Live Control Room into the corresponding fields in your encoder. Treat the key as a password: anyone who has it may be able to send video to your channel. Do not publish it or share it with people who should not control the stream.
- Start the encoder and confirm the preview. Check Live Control Room for the incoming signal and confirm the correct video and visibility before going live.
- Plan recording separately for a 24-hour broadcast. If you need a complete replay, enable a local recording in your production setup and confirm it is saving. Do not rely on YouTube to archive a stream that runs beyond 12 hours.
Copyright and monetization still apply
Verification is an access step, not a waiver of YouTube’s content rules. Use video and audio that you have rights to stream, and review YouTube’s policies before putting a continuous broadcast on air. A verified channel is not automatically accepted into the YouTube Partner Programme or eligible for every monetization feature; those decisions have separate requirements.
