Short answer: Absolum has touch controls on mobile, but official sources do not confirm that you can move, resize, or remap the on-screen buttons. The iOS/iPadOS edition explicitly supports MFi controllers, while the PC version has full controller support for Xbox and PlayStation pads. Android controller support has not been documented.
What Absolum officially supports by platform
| Platform | Touch input | External-controller evidence | Touchscreen remapping |
|---|---|---|---|
| iOS/iPadOS | The mobile edition is advertised with a revamped interface and complete touch control. | The Apple App Store listing explicitly says it is compatible with MFi controllers. | No official control-layout editor or remapping option is documented. |
| Android | The mobile edition is planned for Android, with touch behavior described in the mobile listing. | Android-native controller behavior is not documented in the reviewed official sources. | No official control-layout editor or remapping option is documented. |
| PC/Steam | Keyboard and mouse are available alongside controller play. | Steam lists Full Controller Support, names Xbox and PlayStation controllers, and says the developers recommend a controller. | Touchscreen remapping does not apply to the PC edition. |
This distinction matters because “controller support” and “touchscreen remapping” solve different problems. A game can accept a physical gamepad while giving you no way to rearrange its virtual buttons. For Absolum, the physical-controller evidence is strong on PC and explicit for iOS, whereas mobile touch-layout customization remains unconfirmed.

iPhone and iPad: using an external controller
What the MFi statement means
The Apple App Store listing uses the wording “Compatible with MFi controllers.” MFi is Apple’s certification program for accessories that work with Apple devices, so the documented mobile-controller route is an MFi-compatible gamepad connected to an iPhone or iPad. The listing does not name a particular controller model or manufacturer.

Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
If you are asking whether a Bluetooth controller will work on an iPhone, the safe interpretation is narrower than “every Bluetooth gamepad.” Choose a controller identified as MFi-compatible; ordinary Bluetooth connectivity by itself is not separately promised in the Absolum listing. A controller can pair with iOS at the operating-system level and still lack game-specific support, so the MFi wording is the relevant evidence for this title.

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Practical setup sequence
- Check that the controller is advertised as MFi-compatible and that your iPhone or iPad meets the mobile requirements published for Absolum.
- Put the controller into pairing mode and connect it through the device’s Bluetooth settings, or use its wired connection if the controller and device support one.
- Start Absolum after the controller is connected. Launching the game after pairing gives iOS the best chance to present the gamepad as an available input device from the beginning.
- Test movement, attack, dodge and menu navigation before starting a serious run. If the game continues to show touch prompts, disconnect and reconnect the controller, then relaunch the game.
The listing establishes compatibility, not a particular button map. Expect the game to provide its own controller layout rather than assuming that every action can be reassigned. If a future update adds an in-game controller editor, its controls would be separate from touchscreen-button customization.
When a controller is preferable to touch
Absolum is an action game, so a physical pad can be useful when simultaneous movement, attacks and defensive inputs are difficult to perform on glass. A controller also leaves more of the screen unobstructed. That is a reason to choose the MFi route, not evidence that the game offers a different or more extensive set of actions than touch play.
Android: what is and is not confirmed
Release status
Playdigious says Absolum will be available on mobile on November 5, 2026. The company lists Android preregistration and an iOS pre-order, so Android availability and controller behavior should be treated separately: the mobile release is announced, but an Android gamepad feature is not described in the reviewed documentation.

Controller expectations
There is no official Android statement in the available material that promises support for Bluetooth, USB or a particular controller family. Do not infer Android support from the iOS MFi line or from the PC Steam listing. Those are platform-specific claims. An Android phone may recognize a gamepad system-wide, yet Absolum may expose only the inputs that its Android build implements.
If Android controller play is essential, wait for the Android build’s own store description, Help Center entry or in-game settings to identify it. Until one of those sources names controller support, regard a physical Android pad as unconfirmed rather than guaranteed.
Touch remains the documented fallback
The mobile edition is designed around touch input, and the published description calls out a revamped mobile interface with complete touch control. That gives Android players a documented way to play even though the external-controller question is open. It does not establish that the virtual buttons can be moved, enlarged or replaced.

PC and Steam: the clearest controller case
Supported controller families
Steam marks Absolum as having “Full Controller Support,” identifies Xbox Controllers and PlayStation Controllers, and states that the developers recommend playing with a controller. This is the strongest controller statement in the available sources. It means the PC edition is intended to be played with a gamepad rather than treating controller input as an experimental extra.
Recommended Free Tools
Steam also lists keyboard and mouse play. You can therefore choose a controller for the action sections and retain keyboard-and-mouse input if that arrangement suits your setup. The Steam label does not, by itself, promise that every third-party pad, adapter or remapping utility will behave identically.
Basic PC setup
- Connect a compatible Xbox or PlayStation controller before launching the game.
- Open Absolum from Steam and confirm that the game responds to the pad on its title or pause screen.
- If Steam offers an input-configuration prompt, use it to select the controller profile that matches your device.
- Test every essential action in a safe area before beginning a run. If inputs are missing, close the game, reconnect the controller and start it again.
“Full Controller Support” describes device support, not touchscreen editing. The PC version has no phone-style overlay of virtual buttons to drag around, so a touchscreen-remapping setting would not be relevant to this edition.

- Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft
Can you move, resize or remap the on-screen buttons?
No reviewed Absolum store page or Help Center page documents a control-layout editor, movable touch buttons, button resizing or touchscreen remapping. The accurate conclusion is unconfirmed, not a definitive “no.” An undocumented option could exist in a particular build, but there is no published instruction that lets you rely on it.
What the absence of documentation means
- You should not buy the mobile version expecting to place buttons around a preferred grip or move them away from a notch or hand position.
- You should not assume that an accessibility setting on the phone will rearrange Absolum’s in-game controls.
- A connected controller is an alternative input method; it is not proof that the touch overlay can be edited.
- An update could add remapping later, but no date or promise for such a feature is given in the cited material.
How to check your installed build without guessing
After installation, inspect the game’s Settings, Controls or Accessibility screens for wording such as “custom layout,” “edit controls,” “button position,” “button size” or “remap.” If none appears, the published information gives you no supported procedure for changing the overlay. Record the game version and consult the current in-game help or official support page before treating a hidden gesture or operating-system workaround as reliable.

Playdigious lists the following baseline requirements for the mobile release:
Best Value
- 5-in-1 Connectivity: Equipped with a 4K HDMI port, a 5 Gbps USB-C data port, two 5 Gbps USB-A ports, and a USB C 100W PD-IN port. Note: The USB C 100W PD-IN port supports only charging and does not support data transfer devices such as headphones or speakers.
- Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.
- Transfer Files in Seconds: Move files to and from your laptop at speeds of up to 5 Gbps via the USB-C and USB-A data ports. Note: The USB C 5Gbps Data port does not support video output.
- HD Display: Connect to the HDMI port to stream or mirror content to an external monitor in resolutions of up to 4K@30Hz. Note: The USB-C ports do not support video output.
- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
- Android: Android 9 or later and more than 3 GB of RAM. The Help Center also identifies certain Android GPUs as excluded; the list should be checked against your device rather than inferred from the operating-system version alone.
- iOS/iPadOS: iOS 16 or later and a device with an A12-or-newer chip.
- Availability: Playdigious announces November 5, 2026, as the mobile availability date, with Android preregistration and an iOS pre-order offered ahead of launch.
These are compatibility requirements, not guarantees about controller behavior. Meeting the Android RAM and GPU conditions does not establish Android gamepad support, and meeting the iOS chip requirement does not turn an uncertified Bluetooth pad into an MFi controller.
Troubleshooting controller play
iPhone or iPad does not respond to the gamepad
- Confirm that the device sees the controller in its Bluetooth or wired-accessory settings.
- Verify that the controller is marketed as MFi-compatible, since that is the compatibility claim made for Absolum’s iOS edition.
- Disconnect other gamepads, reconnect the intended one and relaunch Absolum.
- Test the controller in another iOS game. If it fails there as well, the issue is at the pairing, accessory or operating-system level rather than a documented Absolum remapping setting.
Android recognizes the controller but Absolum does not
Because Android controller support is undocumented, there is no confirmed Absolum-specific fix to apply. Re-pairing, restarting the game and checking for an updated Android listing are reasonable first steps, but they cannot create support that the developer has not announced. Use touch controls or wait for an official Android controller statement if a gamepad is a requirement.
PC inputs are wrong or missing
- Reconnect the Xbox or PlayStation controller and relaunch the Steam build.
- Check Steam’s controller configuration for an active profile and remove conflicting virtual-input software.
- Test the pad in another Steam game to separate a hardware or driver problem from an Absolum configuration problem.
- If the controller works elsewhere but not in Absolum, consult the current Steam discussion or official support channel with the controller type and the affected inputs.
Which setup should you choose?
| Your priority | Most defensible choice | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Play on an iPhone or iPad with physical controls | An MFi-compatible game controller | This is the mobile controller category explicitly named by the App Store listing. |
| Play on Android with a gamepad | Wait for Android-specific confirmation | The reviewed official material does not document Android controller behavior. |
| Play on PC with a controller | An Xbox or PlayStation controller | Steam names both families and labels the game as having Full Controller Support. |
| Customize the position of virtual buttons | Do not assume the feature exists | No official source reviewed here documents touchscreen remapping. |
The practical buying advice is therefore platform-specific. On iOS, shop by MFi compatibility rather than by Bluetooth alone. On PC, the Steam controller designation makes an Xbox or PlayStation pad the least speculative choice. On Android, postpone an accessory purchase if controller support is a deciding factor. For touch players on any mobile platform, treat the default layout as the only documented arrangement until the game itself or an official update says otherwise.
