The number appears to be conflated with different metrics reported for several products: registered accounts, cumulative players, daily active players, creators, and games made. Those figures cannot be treated as interchangeable.
Which platform does the 10 million claim refer to?
The headline does not name a platform, and the available reporting points to several plausible sources of confusion. None establishes 10 million monthly active users for an AI-generated games platform.
- Game Buddy and Hakko AI: A July 26, 2026 digest says the products had surpassed 10 million registered users globally. It separately reports that their team later launched Luddi for AI-generated games; it does not say Luddi had 10 million users or that the earlier figure was monthly activity. AITNT
- TapTap Maker: A 2026 GameTeahouse feature, citing official data, says its games drew over 10 million cumulative players in the first half of 2026. That is a period total, not a count of people active in a given month. GameTeahouse
- The9bit: A report on The9’s Q2 2026 earnings call says it had more than 8 million registered users and had produced over 110,000 games since its August 2025 launch. Registered users are not monthly active users. MarketBeat
Because the title does not identify a company or link the 10 million figure to a defined metric, it is not possible to tell which of these products—if any—its claim intended to describe.
What the reported numbers actually measure
| Product or activity | Reported figure | What it measures |
|---|---|---|
| Game Buddy and Hakko AI | More than 10 million globally, reported July 26, 2026 | Registered users, according to AITNT; not monthly active users. Luddi is described as a later launch, not as the owner of that count. |
| TapTap Maker games | Over 10 million in the first half of 2026 | Cumulative players, according to official data cited by GameTeahouse; not a monthly audience. |
| TapTap Maker | 160,000 average daily; more than 3,000 | Average daily active players and creators, respectively, according to official data cited by GameTeahouse for the first half of 2026. |
| The9bit | More than 8 million; over 110,000 since launch | Registered users and games produced, respectively, according to The9bit figures reported from its Q2 2026 earnings call. |
These labels answer different questions. Registered users count accounts created over time; cumulative players add up players across a period or a set of games; daily active players describe activity on an average day; creators and games made measure supply. Monthly active users require a defined month and a count of distinct users active during it. None of the figures above supplies that measurement for the unnamed platform.

How the named platforms work—and what their numbers do not prove
TapTap Maker: creation and distribution in one ecosystem
GameTeahouse describes TapTap Maker, developed by Xindong, as a natural-language game-creation platform connected to TapTap. Its feature describes a workflow for creating games with prompts and submitting them to TapTap. The first-half 2026 figures indicate activity across its games, but they do not establish how many distinct users returned monthly, how long they played, or whether the audience was retained.
The same feature says TapTap Maker integrated in-game advertising for mini-games at its official launch and that the platform took no cut of this ad revenue at the time of the report. That is a description of the reported arrangement then, not a guarantee about current terms or every game type.

The9bit: prompt-based game development
MarketBeat’s August 24, 2026 report on The9’s earnings call describes The9bit as an AI game-development and user-generated-content platform. Users can start from a prompt and refine gameplay parameters, visual assets, and styles with natural-language editing. The report says most games were casual and advertising-supported at the time of the call. Expansion into mid-core games and in-game purchases was described as a plan, not a completed launch.
The9 reportedly focused first on Southeast Asia, while describing the United States and Europe as longer-term markets with more competition and potentially higher acquisition costs. Those audience and business details provide context for the platform’s direction; they do not turn its registered-user count into a measure of monthly engagement.

Does a large audience mean creators can earn money?
No. Audience scale alone does not show that a platform is profitable, that a typical creator earns meaningful revenue, or that users can reliably discover quality games. The GameTeahouse coverage includes individual creator earnings examples, including a mini-game reportedly earning 10,000 yuan in one day. That is an anecdote about a particular game, not a typical or guaranteed outcome.
The reporting also identifies friction across the category: game quality and discovery remain challenges, high-quality tools can cost creators money, and making independent development sustainable is difficult. Advertising may fit short, casual mini-games better than role-playing games, where interruptions can be more disruptive. A successful example or a large cumulative player total does not resolve those constraints.

As Chen Yusen, founder of MuleRun, an AI agent platform under Alibaba Cloud, put it in an interview with LateNight: “Without users, creators are unwilling to deploy their products; without high-quality content, users who do come won’t stay.” That describes a two-sided challenge: creators need an audience, while players need games worth returning to. It is not evidence that any particular platform has solved it.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What evidence would verify 10 million monthly users?
A credible 10-million monthly-active-user claim should name the platform and define the number. At minimum, readers need to know which product is being counted, which month or reporting period is covered, whether the count is unique active users rather than accounts or visits, and whether the figure comes from the company or an independent source. Without those details, a headline number cannot support conclusions about retention, game quality, or sustainable creator income.

The sources cited here report useful but different measures. They support the conclusion that AI game-creation platforms are attracting users and creators; they do not verify 10 million monthly active users for the unnamed platform in the headline.
