Yes. Progress earned during the October 15–19, 2026 Battlefield 6 free trial is saved through the EA Account you use to play and carries into the full game after you purchase it. Career Rank, hardware unlocks and levels, customization items, and other account-based progression are not meant to reset.
The important condition is account identity: launch the trial, purchase, and full game with the same linked EA Account. If the trial was played on the wrong EA Account, the full game can appear to have no progress even though the progress is attached to the other account.

The short answer on Battlefield 6 trial progress
Electronic Arts says an EA Account is required to play Battlefield 6 because game progress is stored through that account. Its trial guidance also states that progress earned in the free trial carries into the full Battlefield 6 experience after purchase. The trial is therefore not a disposable guest session.

This applies to the current trial listed for October 15–19, 2026 on PlayStation and Steam. Steam access is specifically scheduled to remain available until October 19 at 17:00 UTC. The dates are attached to this promotion; they are not a permanent free version of the full game.

What carries into the full game?
EA’s trial article names the progression categories that continue after you buy Battlefield 6. The practical breakdown is:
| Progression | Carryover result | Condition |
|---|---|---|
| Career Rank | Carries into the full game | Play and purchase with the same EA Account |
| Hardware unlocks | Carries into the full game | Includes the associated hardware levels earned on that account |
| Hardware levels | Carries into the full game | Stored with the EA Account used during the trial |
| Customization items | Carries into the full game | Items must have been earned on the same account |
| Other earned progression | Continues where it is covered by the account progression system | Use the same linked EA Account |
| Battle Pass rewards | Carry across supported platforms | The platforms must use the same EA Account, as described on PlayStation’s Battlefield 6 page |
EA’s wording includes “etc.” after rank, hardware and customization, so the safest interpretation is that earned progression tied to the account continues, while temporary access to the trial itself does not. The official statement does not promise that every local setting, graphics option or device-specific preference will be copied between installations.
PlayStation also describes rank, unlocks and Battle Pass rewards as carrying across supported platforms when they are connected to the same EA Account. That makes the account link, rather than the store where you downloaded the trial, the key continuity check. Read the platform statement at PlayStation’s Battlefield 6 page.

Trial dates, platforms and included content
The promotion is often called a free weekend, but the listed window spans five calendar days. EA’s access guide identifies PlayStation and Steam as the current trial platforms and says the trial provides full access to Battlefield 6, including all game modes, events and Battlefield Portal.
| Platform | Trial window | End detail | What is available |
|---|---|---|---|
| PlayStation | October 15–19, 2026 | EA lists October 19 as the final trial date | Full Battlefield 6 trial access, including game modes, events and Battlefield Portal |
| Steam | October 15–19, 2026 | Access is listed until October 19, 2026, at 17:00 UTC | Full Battlefield 6 trial access, including multiplayer content and Battlefield Portal |
The Steam timing comes from EA’s announcement on the EA Forums. If your local clock differs from UTC, convert 17:00 UTC before planning a final session.
Set up the correct account before you start
Because progress follows the EA Account, verify the identity used by the game before investing time in unlocks.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- Check the account shown in game. Confirm the EA Account email or account identity displayed in Battlefield 6 is the one you intend to keep.
- Open EA Account settings. Go to the account’s Connections page and verify that your PlayStation or Steam account is linked there.
- Do not switch accounts casually. A platform account connected to a different EA Account will not show progression earned under your original account.
- Keep the same identity for purchase. When buying or launching the full game, use the same EA Account that stored the trial progress.
- Preserve earlier continuity. If you played the Battlefield 6 Beta or Road to Battlefield 6, EA advises continuing with that same EA Account.
These checks are more important than whether the trial was downloaded from Steam or played on PlayStation. The store account supplies access to the platform build; the EA Account is where EA says the game progress is stored.

- Classic Experience Built for a Modern Era: With all core gameplay modes present, plus two brand new modes and enhanced visuals, Street Fighter 6 redefines the classic fighting game genre.
- Distinct Fighting Styles to Master: 18 diverse characters including legendary World Warriors and exciting brand new characters add their own flair to the game at launch, with more to be added post-launch.
- Brand New Game Modes: The Street Fighter franchise continues to hone its skills and redefine the fighting genre with the introduction of three new foundational modes – Fighting Ground, World Tour and Battle Hub.
- In-Game Commentating: Street Fighter’s first-ever Real-Time Commentary Feature, supported with subtitles in 13 languages, incorporates the voices of popular Fighting Game Community (FGC) commentators like Vicious and Aru directly into the game to narrate what is happening on-screen just like a real tournament.
- Two New Control Schemes: Classic Controls returns alongside two brand new options: Modern Controls allow you to perform special attacks with simple button combinations and are designed for players who want to fight without memorizing and practicing special move button combinations first. Dynamic Controls only require a press of the Auto-Attack button to perform attacks and is a great control type to use when you have friends and family over for a quick, casual game.
Can Steam and PlayStation share the same progress?
They can use the same progression when both platform identities are connected to the same EA Account and the game supports those platforms for the relevant progression. PlayStation’s Battlefield 6 information specifically describes cross-platform continuity for rank, unlocks and Battle Pass rewards under that same-account condition.
For a Steam-to-PlayStation or PlayStation-to-Steam move, check the EA Account Connections page before launching on the second platform. Do not assume that owning both platform versions automatically merges accounts. The continuity comes from the shared EA Account link.
The trial and purchase arrangements can still be platform-specific. A purchase made for one storefront does not change which platform licenses or editions you own, and the official guidance does not state that a single purchase transfers between storefronts. The progression question and the license question are separate: use the same EA Account for progression, then confirm that you have access to the full game on the platform where you plan to play.
Is multiplayer included in the free trial?
Yes. EA describes the trial as full access to Battlefield 6 for the trial window, including all game modes and events. The Steam announcement confirms that players can download the multiplayer files during the free period. Battlefield Portal is included as well.

That means you can use the trial to earn rank, hardware levels, unlocks and customization items in the included modes, then continue that account-based progression in the full game after purchase. The multiplayer entitlement lasts only for the stated trial period; progression carryover does not extend the free access window.
What happens when the trial ends?
When the October 15–19 trial closes, full Battlefield 6 trial access ends. EA’s access guide says REDSEC remains available to players who have it installed, but that is not the same as continued access to the Battlefield 6 trial.
Your earned progression remains associated with the EA Account. To use it in the full Battlefield 6 experience after the trial, purchase the game and launch it with that same account. Installing or retaining REDSEC should not be treated as a substitute for owning Battlefield 6.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsTroubleshooting: your unlocks or rank appear to be missing
The most likely issue identified by EA is an account mismatch. Work through these checks in order:

- Pause before creating a new account. A new EA Account will have a separate progression history.
- Compare the in-game account with your remembered login. Check the account identity shown by the game, including the email address where available.
- Review EA Account Connections. Confirm that the Steam or PlayStation profile used for the trial is linked to that exact EA Account.
- Launch the full game through the same platform identity. A different platform profile, even on the same console or PC, can point to a different EA Account link.
- Recheck after correcting the link. If progress was earned under another EA Account, return to that account rather than expecting it to appear on the new one.
EA’s published guidance does not say that a wrong-account session can be merged into another EA Account. Treat the original account as the owner of the missing rank and unlocks unless EA Support tells you otherwise.
Does buying the game reset the trial?
No. Buying Battlefield 6 is the step that lets the trial progression continue into the full experience, provided the purchase and launch use the same EA Account. EA explicitly says the progress carries over upon purchase.
The account check should happen before checkout if possible. If you have multiple EA logins, record which one is connected to the platform profile that ran the trial, then use that identity for the purchase and first full-game launch.

Players who took part in the Battlefield 6 Beta or Road to Battlefield 6 should continue using the EA Account they used for those activities. EA includes that advice in its access guidance because earlier account-linked history is easiest to preserve when the same identity remains connected.
This does not mean every beta item must be available in the full release; it means the account choice should remain consistent. The trial’s stated carryover categories—rank, hardware progression, customization and related earned progression—are the items to verify after purchase.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming “free weekend” means a temporary profile: Battlefield 6 stores progress through an EA Account.
- Using a different EA login on the full-game launch: the new account will not display the first account’s progression.
- Confusing platform ownership with progression ownership: Steam and PlayStation access are separate platform arrangements, while supported progression follows the linked EA Account.
- Waiting past the trial cutoff: Steam’s published cutoff is 17:00 UTC on October 19, 2026, and the full trial ends after the promotion.
- Expecting REDSEC to provide the full trial: REDSEC remains available to eligible installed players, but EA says the Battlefield 6 trial access ends.
Bottom line for trial players
Your Battlefield 6 free-trial progress should carry over after purchase. Keep one EA Account linked to the PlayStation or Steam profile you use, and use that same account for the full game. Career Rank, hardware unlocks and levels, customization items, and other earned account progression continue; supported cross-platform rank, unlocks and Battle Pass rewards can also follow the same EA Account. Multiplayer, events and Battlefield Portal are available during the October 15–19, 2026 trial, but the free access itself expires when that window closes.
