No. Blue Prince does not support cross-saves between PC and PS5. A game started on a PC should be treated as a separate run when you launch the PlayStation 5 edition. The official FAQ allows cross-save only between systems in the same ecosystem, such as Steam and Steam Deck or Windows and Xbox.
The PS5 version does include manual save points, and a later PlayStation patch added backup-save creation and restoration. Those features protect or restore saves made on PS5; they do not transfer a PC save to PS5.

The short answer for PC and PS5 players
If you are asking whether you can buy Blue Prince on PS5 and continue a save made on Steam or another Windows installation, the answer is no under the currently documented support policy. PC and PS5 maintain separate save environments, so progress begun on one should not be expected to appear on the other.

What the official cross-save policy says
Raw Fury’s pinned Blue Prince FAQ, dated April 10, 2025, gives the clearest published rule. Helen of Raw Fury wrote: “Blue Prince does not have cross-save except in the same ecosystem e.g. Steam to Steam Deck and Windows/Xbox.”
“Same ecosystem” is the important limitation. The examples describe platform families that share an underlying account and save infrastructure. PlayStation is not included in either example, and the FAQ does not describe a bridge between PC and PlayStation.
As a result, the safe interpretation is not merely that a particular transfer tool is missing. Rather, PC and PS5 should be planned as independent save ecosystems unless Raw Fury publishes a new policy that explicitly adds them.

The table separates two ideas that are often confused: portability between supported platforms and the ability to save safely on one platform. Blue Prince has evidence for the latter on PS5, but not for PC-to-PS5 portability.

What happens if you move from PC to PS5?
Your existing PC run does not carry over
Launching Blue Prince on PS5 should not be expected to locate a Steam or Windows save. The PS5 edition uses its own save environment, so the game may present no corresponding continuation even if you use the same broad gaming identity elsewhere.
This is a compatibility limitation, not a sign that your PC save is corrupt. A save can be healthy and usable on the platform where it was created while remaining unavailable on another platform family.
The PS5 version starts its own progression
When you begin playing on PS5, treat that run as a separate progression track. Manual save points let you return to that PS5 run, but they do not merge it with a PC run or reconcile two different histories.
Buying both editions does not solve the mismatch
A second purchase gives access to another edition; it does not change the cross-save policy. If you have significant progress on PC, decide whether restarting on PS5 is acceptable before buying the console version. Conversely, if your main run is on PS5, keep using that edition when you want to preserve its save history.

Manual saves on PS5 are different from cross-save
The official PlayStation Store page says that the PS5 edition includes manual save points. In practical terms, this means you can create a save at the points the game allows and use that save to return to progress on the PS5 installation.
Manual saving answers the question “Can I preserve my PS5 progress and come back to it?” Cross-save answers “Can the same progress follow me to another platform?” Blue Prince’s PS5 manual-save feature addresses the first question only.
On August 7, 2025, the official Blue Prince account announced a PlayStation patch that addressed PS5 save-file issues and added backup-save creation and restoration. The update improves the resilience of PS5 saves: a backup can help restore a playable PS5 state after a save-file problem. Nothing in that announcement says that the patch imports PC saves, exports PS5 saves to PC, or adds account-wide progression.
Therefore, a PS5 backup is best understood as recovery within the PS5 environment. It should not be treated as a hidden synchronization service.

How to choose where to play
Stay on PC if your current run matters most
If you have already invested time in a Steam or Windows run and want uninterrupted progress, continuing on the same supported PC ecosystem is the least disruptive option. The FAQ specifically identifies Steam-to-Steam Deck and Windows-to-Xbox as same-ecosystem cases; PC-to-PS5 is outside that description.
Choose PS5 for a separate console run
The PS5 edition can make sense if you prefer playing on Sony’s console and are comfortable beginning a separate run. Use its manual save points deliberately, and keep in mind that the backup-and-restore improvement announced in August 2025 is about protecting that PS5 save data.
Use a same-ecosystem move when you need portability
If portability is the deciding factor, the documented examples are Steam with Steam Deck and Windows with Xbox. Confirm the account, edition and current platform terms before moving, because the FAQ establishes the ecosystem relationship but does not provide a universal promise for every storefront, account configuration or future release.

Save compatibility is independent of price, subscription access and regional storefront availability. Those terms can change and are not established by the cross-save FAQ. Check the current Steam, Xbox or PlayStation listing for your region before purchasing, especially if you are buying a second copy solely to play on another device.

Troubleshooting a missing Blue Prince save
You expected a PC save on PS5
- Confirm that the missing progress was created on PC rather than on a previous PS5 installation.
- Check the platform pairing against the documented policy. Steam/Steam Deck and Windows/Xbox are the cited same-ecosystem examples; PC/PS5 is not.
- Do not assume that reinstalling the PS5 version or purchasing downloadable content will import the PC file. The issue is platform compatibility, not an installation entitlement.
- Keep the original PC installation and its local or ecosystem-managed save intact while deciding whether to start a separate PS5 run.
You expected a PS5 save after a file problem
- Use the PS5 edition’s normal manual-save points to identify the most recent known good state.
- Install the latest available PlayStation update for Blue Prince, because the August 7, 2025 patch added backup-save creation and restoration and addressed PS5 save-file issues.
- Use the backup or restoration option provided by the updated PS5 version when a save-file problem occurs.
- If a restored PS5 save is still missing, preserve the affected data and consult the current official support channel rather than deleting every save and making recovery harder.
These steps can help distinguish a damaged or missing PS5 file from an expected lack of cross-platform support. They cannot turn a PC save into a PS5 save.
Could cross-save be added later?
Software support can change, so a future announcement could revise the current situation. As of the April 10, 2025 FAQ and the August 7, 2025 PlayStation save update, the published information establishes same-ecosystem examples and PS5 save recovery, not PC-to-PS5 progression.
For a real change, look for an official announcement that explicitly names PlayStation alongside PC, explains which account system is used, and states whether existing saves can be imported. A patch that only mentions save stability, backups, restoration or manual-save behavior should not be read as a cross-save announcement.

Bottom line for buying and switching platforms
Blue Prince does not currently support cross-saves between PC and PS5. Steam/Steam Deck and Windows/Xbox are the documented same-ecosystem examples. PS5 manual saves and the 2025 backup-and-restore patch improve local save reliability, but they do not synchronize progress with a PC copy. Choose the platform where you want your main run to live, and switch between PC and PS5 only if you are prepared to maintain separate progress.
