For standard progression, explore other caves and mine remaining glowing deposits with a Rare Pickaxe or better. The documented way to spawn items without gathering them is Sandbox mode’s Item Spawner; enabling it disables quest progress, so it is not an unlimited-resource method for a normal progression world.
Does Brightcore respawn in LEGO Fortnite?
LEGO’s cave and Glass guides explain where to find Brightcore and what tool to use, but they do not establish that depleted deposits regenerate or give a respawn timer. Community reports describe cave resources as non-respawning, but reports are anecdotal and do not settle how the current game build behaves. There is no verified cave-reset loop to rely on for unlimited Brightcore.
Epic’s live LEGO Fortnite Odyssey listing showed update 42.30 notes when accessed on October 8, 2026. Because game mechanics can change, check current in-game behavior and official notes rather than treating older community reports as definitive.
Where to mine Brightcore in a normal world
Look for glowing deposits on the walls of lava caves in the Dry Valley biome. A Rare Pickaxe or better is required to mine them. LEGO recommends stocking up: Brightcore is used to smelt metal for stronger tools and weapons. Its cave guide also notes that caves vary in size and can connect to larger networks.

- Travel to the Dry Valley and locate a lava cave entrance.
- Bring a Rare Pickaxe or better, torches, healing food, and heat protection.
- Search the cave walls for glowing Brightcore deposits. Explore beyond the first chamber and mark entrances so you can distinguish caves you have already checked.
- When one cave is depleted, search other caves rather than expecting a confirmed reset.
Brightcore also has a specific progression use: LEGO’s Glass guide says the Metal Smelter unlocks at Village Level 9 and requires 15 Brightcore.
Is there an unlimited method?
If by “unlimited” you mean obtaining items without mining them in a standard survival world, the documented option is Sandbox mode’s Item Spawner—not a cave exploit. Epic says the Item Spawner can spawn items from the catalog. Item Spawner and Free Crafting are Sandbox features; in other world templates, they are off by default. Enabling these settings disables quest progress, so this route trades ordinary progression for easier access to items. See Epic’s world-settings guidance for the settings details.

How the available options compare
| Option | Progression impact | How well established | What it involves |
|---|---|---|---|
| Explore and mine Dry Valley caves | Preserves the standard gathering loop. | Officially documented as the Brightcore location and mining method. | Requires a Rare Pickaxe or better and preparation for heat and enemies. |
| Sandbox Item Spawner | Enabling the setting disables quest progress. | Documented by Epic as a Sandbox feature. | Spawn catalog items instead of gathering them through cave exploration. |
| Thermal Fish processing or cave enemy drops | Not established by the community reports cited here. | Anecdotal leads; current availability and yields are unconfirmed. | Check the current in-game recipes and game build before investing time. |
What about fish or enemy drops?
Community discussions mention Thermal Fish processing and cave enemies as possible Brightcore sources. The available reports do not authoritatively confirm current yields, requirements, or whether those routes still work. Treat them as things to verify against the current in-game recipe list, not dependable renewable methods.
