Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse is a Nintendo Switch game that Nintendo lists as supported on Switch 2. Konami’s published specification lists the Switch version at 30 fps, but GamesRadar reports that the Switch demo runs at 60 fps on Switch 2. That reported demo result is not a published guarantee for the full game.
How to play the demo on Switch 2
Download the opening-chapter demo from the Nintendo Switch eShop and play it on Switch 2. Nintendo lists the Switch release as supported on Switch 2, with behavior consistent with Nintendo Switch; it does not list a native Switch 2 edition. Konami lists the demo for Nintendo Switch and specifies 3 GB of minimum capacity for the demo.
There is no documented frame-rate toggle or special setup required. The 60 fps figure on Switch 2 comes from GamesRadar’s report about the demo, rather than a setting players can select or a Switch 2 specification published by Konami.

These statements are not necessarily contradictory: Konami specifies the Nintendo Switch version, while GamesRadar reports the demo’s behavior when that version is played on Switch 2. The available information does not establish the final game’s Switch 2 frame rate, whether it will remain stable, or how results vary between handheld and TV play.

Can demo progress transfer to the full game?
Yes. Konami says demo save data can transfer to the full game, subject to these conditions:
- Use the same platform and account for the demo and full game.
- Keep the demo save data on the system.
- Update the full game to its latest version before transferring.
Some content or features may be restricted in the demo. Konami describes it as the opening chapter.

Full-game release and Switch details
Konami and Nintendo list the release date as October 15, 2026. The US Nintendo listing estimates the game at 4.2 GB on both Switch and Switch 2; Nintendo notes that listing information may not be final at preorder, so treat that figure as an estimate rather than a guaranteed final storage requirement.
Konami lists a digital Standard Edition and a physical or digital Midnight Edition. The Midnight Edition includes the main game, a separate Digital Sound & Art Gallery application, and three in-game bonuses. Nintendo lists single-player play and TV, tabletop, and handheld modes.

What kind of game is it?
KONAMI and Evil Empire are developing Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse, with advisory help from Motion Twin. The story is set in Paris in 1499, 23 years after Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse. Rose Belmont, Trevor Belmont’s daughter, explores Paris and Dracula’s castle with the Vampire Killer whip.
Nintendo’s listing describes a 2D action-exploration game built around whip movement and combat, with bosses, Arcana abilities, seven weapon categories, and relics that affect offense and defense. Those are official descriptions, not a performance assessment.
