Lowering graphics settings may help the first two, but it will not fix a connection or routing issue. To troubleshoot AION 2, note what the symptom looks like, where and when it happens, then change one setting at a time.
First, identify what feels wrong
- Low FPS: The image updates slowly or looks consistently choppy. Start with the PC requirements and graphics settings.
- Stuttering: Play is mostly smooth but briefly hitches. Note whether it happens in particular scenes or began after a patch or driver change; those observations help compare tests but do not identify a cause by themselves.
- Network delay: Actions or other players appear delayed even when the image itself is smooth. Graphics changes do not address server, internet, or routing problems.
No official diagnostic flow establishes the cause of every AION 2 performance problem, so treat each change as a test rather than a guaranteed fix.
Compare your PC with the requirements for your client
The global Steam listing and NCSoft’s Korean download page publish separate requirement information. Use the page for the client and region you play; their FHD preset notes differ. These are published compatibility baselines, not promises of a particular frame rate.

Check your installed CPU, GPU, RAM, Windows version, DirectX version, drive type, and free space against the applicable tier before considering an upgrade. If one component falls below the minimum, identify that mismatch first; a blanket PC replacement recommendation is not justified by the requirements alone.
Use official installation and driver sources
For the Korean PC client, NCSoft’s instructions say to install PURPLE, select AION 2 in the Store, then choose the game-install option in the AION 2 lobby. The same official page links to DirectX 12, Visual Studio Redistributable 2015–2022, NVIDIA GeForce drivers, AMD Radeon drivers, and .NET Framework 4.6.2 or higher. Follow the official client and vendor sources that apply to your region; a driver update is a reasonable check, not a guaranteed performance improvement.

NCSoft recommends an SSD and lists 100 GB of available storage. Check whether the game is already on an SSD and whether the drive has the required free space before buying storage. This guidance does not establish that an SSD will cure every hitch, low-FPS issue, or online delay.

Test graphics changes one at a time
A third-party Playnews guide suggests lowering demanding visual options, including effects, mass-battle, model, draw distance, vegetation, shadows, shading, global illumination, reflections, clouds, post-processing, and anti-aliasing. It also suggests trying Performance or Balanced resolution scaling. These are optional experiments, not NCSoft recommendations or benchmarked fixes; the guide reports no measured FPS gains.
- Record your current settings and choose one option to change.
- For a low-FPS test, try reducing a visual-quality setting or using a lower preset. For stutters, test one option at a time rather than changing a group of settings together.
- Replay the same scene under comparable conditions and judge smoothness and hitching against your starting point.
- Keep a change only if it helps your experience; restore it if it worsens image quality or play.
The guide also proposes VSync off as a starting point, a 60 Hz refresh-rate setting (with 90 Hz as an option), and leaving the upscaler disabled initially. It suggests enabling an upscaler later if needed and describes VSync as a possible fallback for severe lag. These are unverified suggestions without a stated test protocol or quantified results. VSync can affect tearing and input feel depending on the setup, so treat it as a reversible test, not a universal setting.

When the problem persists
- If the PC is below a published minimum, focus on the specific component that misses the applicable requirement and check compatibility before shopping for a replacement.
- If the PC meets requirements, keep track of the symptom, affected scenes, region/client, resolution, drive type, current settings, and any recent patch or driver change. The official pages do not provide a specific support procedure or universal remedy for persistent performance problems.
- If the issue is network delay rather than rendering, do not expect graphics settings or an SSD to resolve it; the sources here do not establish a particular server, routing, or connection fix.
