Yes—Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is now listed by AMD for FSR Redstone technologies, so the claim that the game has no FSR support is out of date. The gap that prompted the complaint was real in July 2025: Sandfall Interactive said it was still exploring FSR while announcing DLSS and XeSS enhancements. What you can use today depends on your Radeon GPU generation, driver, and which Redstone feature you mean.
Does Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 support FSR?
AMD’s current FSR Redstone supported-games list includes Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. That is the clearest current confirmation, but it does not mean every FSR generation or feature works on every GPU or platform.

AMD’s published Redstone eligibility is specific to Radeon generations and drivers:
- Radeon RX 9000 series: AMD lists Redstone features with Adrenalin 25.12.1 or newer.
- Radeon RX 7000 series: AMD lists Redstone upscaling only with Adrenalin 26.6.2 or newer.
AMD notes that compatibility may change. Its listing does not establish that all Redstone features are available on other GPU families or platforms.

Why did Clair Obscur add DLSS before FSR?
The chronology explains why players questioned the difference, but it does not reveal Sandfall’s motive.
July 30, 2025: FSR was still being explored
In its Patch 1.4.0 notes, the Expedition 33 Team announced frame-generation and low-latency enhancements for compatible NVIDIA and Intel GPUs through DLSS and XeSS. The team added: “We are still exploring support for FSR, but we need more time to work on it. July 31, 2025: NVIDIA described its DLSS features
NVIDIA said the game had DLSS Super Resolution and DLAA at launch. It also said an update added DLSS 4 Multi Frame Generation, DLSS Frame Generation, and NVIDIA Reflex. Later support changed the answer
A December 2025 Steam Community search result for the Patch 1.5.0 announcement reported FSR 4 support, including temporal upscaling and frame generation on compatible GPUs. AMD’s current supported-games page provides the stronger basis for the present-day conclusion: the game is listed for FSR Redstone technologies. The available information does not establish that every FSR feature is available on every system.

Can I use FSR on an AMD GPU in Expedition 33?
If your system meets AMD’s listed Redstone generation and driver requirements, the game appears on AMD’s compatibility list. The list distinguishes RX 9000 access to Redstone features from RX 7000 access to Redstone upscaling only; do not treat upscaling and frame generation as interchangeable.
You do not need to replace a graphics card just to play the game. If your GPU is outside the listed Redstone configurations, AMD documents a separate option for some Radeon systems: Radeon Super Resolution (RSR). RSR is a driver-level spatial upscaler, not the same as native, in-game FSR.

What RSR does—and its limits
AMD describes RSR as an option for games without integrated upscaling. Its Windows desktop requirements include a discrete Radeon RX 5000 series GPU or newer and Adrenalin 22.7.1 or later. It applies in exclusive fullscreen or borderless fullscreen when the game is running below the monitor’s native resolution. AMD recommends using in-game FSR instead when available, because game-specific optimizations may improve the result. In July 2025, players had a concrete reason to ask why DLSS and XeSS enhancements were announced while FSR was still under consideration. The dates establish a difference in feature availability at that point; they do not establish favoritism, the relative development effort, or a representative level of player frustration. No cited source here measures image quality or performance for a particular system in Expedition 33.
