Costco’s U.S. Xbox Series X|S online category currently returns no matching results. A 2025 report also relayed a customer-service response saying Costco had no plans to carry Xbox consoles, but that is not a formal public announcement—and it does not establish the stock status of every warehouse or Costco location worldwide.
What does Costco’s U.S. website show?
Costco’s U.S. Xbox Series X & S category currently says it could not find a match. Costco also notes that some items may be available in warehouses even when they are not listed online, and advises shoppers to check locally. This is evidence about the online category, not a complete inventory check of every warehouse.
A separate Costco comparison page still displays a product record for an Xbox Series X 1TB console with an additional controller. A retained product page is not proof that the console is in stock or available for the displayed price.
Did Costco officially announce that it stopped carrying Xbox?
Windows Central reported on September 25, 2025, that Costco had been removing Xbox console hardware. The outlet relayed this response from a customer-service call: “We don’t have any plans going forward to carry an Xbox console.” Windows Central characterized the response as a business decision.

That quote is attributed to a reported customer-service interaction, not a Costco press release or a named executive. The report does not establish a formal public announcement explaining the change.
Why did Costco stop selling Xbox consoles?
The available sources do not establish Costco’s reason. They do not substantiate claims that the decision was driven by sales, margins, tariffs, or a dispute with Microsoft. The reported “business decision” wording does not identify a specific cause.

Can you still find an Xbox at a Costco warehouse?
The online category alone cannot confirm whether a particular warehouse has a console. Costco’s local-availability guidance, published March 2, 2026, says shoppers can check through the Costco app, visit the membership counter, call the warehouse, or use customer-service chat. Have the item number or product description ready.
Does Costco still sell Xbox consoles in Canada?
Costco Canada’s Xbox Series X|S category and a Canadian Series X bundle page remain publicly listed. Listings do not guarantee local stock, but they show why the U.S. situation should not be described as a worldwide Costco exit from Xbox.

Has Microsoft discontinued Xbox Series X|S?
No. Microsoft’s official Xbox console lineup lists Series X|S. Xbox Wire announced U.S. console price changes on June 25, 2026, effective August 1, 2026: 512 GB models were set to increase by US$100, 1 TB models by US$150, and the 2 TB model was to be sunset. Those changes concern Microsoft’s U.S. pricing and lineup; they do not explain Costco’s assortment decision.
