Cronus’s current support guide says PS5 use requires a Zen LINK accessory and labels its PS5 Bypass “No Longer Supported.” That is a compatibility change described by the device maker—not confirmation that Sony publicly announced a Cronus Zen-specific block. Sony says it detects cheating technologies and may suspend accounts that use them, but its cited statement does not name Cronus Zen.
Does Cronus Zen still work on PS5?
Cronus’s current PS5 guide advertises native support for PS5, PS5 Digital Edition and PS5 Pro with Zen LINK. It warns that the controller will disconnect if Zen LINK is not used. The same guide labels “PS5 Bypass” as “No Longer Supported.”
This is the manufacturer’s current setup guidance, not independent verification of every Zen firmware, console version or hardware configuration. It indicates that the previously described bypass is no longer a supported route, while the guide’s documented native-support setup requires Zen LINK.
Did PlayStation announce that it blocked Cronus Zen?
The available Sony statement does not name Cronus Zen or announce a device-specific block. In Sony Interactive Entertainment’s PlayStation 2024 Safety Report, published in February 2025, the company says: “Our systems proactively detect the use of cheating technologies, and we may suspend accounts found using such tools to help preserve a fair and balanced gaming environment.” That describes general anti-cheat detection and enforcement, not a confirmed Cronus-specific compatibility change.

The distinction matters: a device-maker support guide can document a change in a product’s supported setup, while a platform policy can describe possible account enforcement. Neither, on its own, establishes that Sony publicly named Cronus Zen in a firmware announcement. The evidence here does not resolve whether Sony has made such a separate public confirmation.
Can using a Cronus Zen get your PlayStation account suspended?
Sony says accounts found using cheating technologies may be suspended. Its report does not say that every third-party adapter is prohibited, that every Cronus Zen user is cheating, or that use of this specific device automatically results in suspension. The statement is a general warning about cheating tools; it does not set out a Cronus-specific penalty.
What did EA do about Cronus Zen?
EA’s September 10, 2026 announcement describes a separate action by a game publisher, not a Sony console block. EA said it raised concerns with Collective Minds, the manufacturer of Cronus Zen and Strike Pack, about third-party tools that enable cheating in EA games. EA then said: “Following our engagement, EA-related content and scripts were removed from the Cronus Zen and Strike Pack public sites and Discord server.”

This concerns EA-related content and scripts on public sites and Discord. It does not establish a change to PlayStation hardware compatibility or a universal ban on either device.
Are other cheating devices likely to be blocked next?
That remains speculation. Sony’s general anti-cheat statement and EA’s engagement with Collective Minds do not establish that Sony plans to block other devices, or that it has publicly confirmed a Cronus Zen-specific block. The available sources support describing Cronus’s current PS5 setup guidance, Sony’s general enforcement policy and EA’s separate content-removal action—but not predicting what device Sony may target next.
