Evade Extender increases evade distance in Monster Hunter: World, and players have reported that it also affects the Insect Glaive’s midair evade. That aerial interaction is anecdotal, however. The available evidence does not establish whether the skill changes the vault or Jumping Advancing Slash, so it should not be described as extending every aerial move.
What Evade Extender does
Evade Extender increases evade distance; it is not described as adding invulnerability time. Game8’s Monster Hunter: World / Iceborne skill guide, updated February 2, 2021, lists three ranks:
| Rank | Listed effect |
|---|---|
| Level 1 | Slightly extends evasion distance |
| Level 2 | Extends evasion distance |
| Level 3 | Greatly extends evasion distance |
The guide gives no distance units or percentages, so the rank descriptions are qualitative rather than measured values.
What it may do to Insect Glaive aerial moves
A 2018 Steam Community discussion about Evade Extender and Insect Glaive includes a player report that the skill seemed to increase the distance or speed of the aerial evade slightly, though less noticeably than the ground dodge. This is a player observation, not an official explanation or controlled measurement.

- SEAMLESS gameplay: players and monsters can move from One map area to another freely and without loading screens whilst gameplay also dynamically transitions between night and day.
Midair evade
There is anecdotal support for an effect on the midair evade, but no established amount or definitive move-specific rule in the available sources.
Vault and Jumping Advancing Slash
The available evidence does not settle whether Evade Extender changes vault distance or the movement distance of Jumping Advancing Slash. It also does not establish an effect on jumping height, attack reach, or aerial attack damage. If the answer matters for a particular build, compare the exact move in the game’s training area with and without the skill rather than assuming that all airborne movement is affected.

How to decide whether to equip it
- Consider it for repositioning: More evade travel may help you move farther out of danger or adjust your position. That is a practical inference from the distance effect, not a measured performance benefit.
- Check your spacing: Extra travel can also carry you farther than you intend. Whether that feels useful depends on your movement and positioning preferences.
- Choose ranks deliberately: The guide describes a stronger qualitative extension at higher ranks, but the cited sources do not prescribe a rank count for Insect Glaive.
- Account for competing skills: Evade Extender uses build capacity that could go to other choices. The sources do not identify a universally best Insect Glaive build or make this skill mandatory.
Why the weapon’s mobility does not settle the skill interaction
The Insect Glaive is built around Kinsect extract management as well as mobility and jumping attacks. Capcom’s Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate official web manual says the weapon “provides the hunter with great mobility and the ability to perform jumping attacks even on flat terrain.” That is useful general background, but it describes a different game entry and does not explain how Evade Extender works in Monster Hunter: World.
