What’s actually slowing this PC down?

Yes. The Nintendo Switch 2 version supports two-player local couch co-op, and LEGO describes cooperative play as local only. Nintendo Switch Online is not required for play on Switch 2.
How does local co-op work?
LEGO’s official game page says players can play solo or “team up with a friend or family member through two-player local couch cooperative gameplay only.” That confirms two people can play together locally on one console; the official description does not offer online co-op.
Is Nintendo Switch Online required?
No. LEGO’s official FAQ says a Nintendo Switch Online membership is not required to play the game on Nintendo Switch 2. This answers the subscription question for the confirmed local play mode; the official description does not establish an online multiplayer option.
When did the Switch 2 version release?
LEGO’s official media page and Nintendo’s announcement list September 18, 2026 as the Switch 2 release date. That date has passed. For current availability in a particular country, check that region’s Nintendo eShop listing.
