Nioh 3 did not have an announced paid early-access period. Before launch, players could try a free demo released January 29, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Windows PC via Steam. The full game followed on February 6, 2026, and is now released. Whether the demo can still be downloaded depends on the storefront: PlayStation warns that its distribution may end without notice.
What “early access” meant for Nioh 3
Official materials described a free pre-release demo, not paid access to the complete game ahead of its release. KOEI TECMO announced the demo for January 29, 2026, and the full game for February 6, 2026. The official materials reviewed do not announce a paid early-access period.

What the demo included
KOEI TECMO’s January 29, 2026 demo announcement describes a character creator, an early section set in the Warring States period, and a boss fight against Jakotsu-baba. The demo supported solo play and online multiplayer for up to three players. Online multiplayer did not support cross-play.
The demo was a limited portion of the game, not the full release unlocked early. Its save data could carry over to the full game, subject to the platform’s conditions.

Does Nioh 3 demo progress carry over?
Yes. The publisher said demo save data could be transferred to the full game. For the PS5 version, the PlayStation Store listing specifies that you must use the same PS5 console and PlayStation Network account for both versions; it says the demo data is carried over automatically when you launch the full game.
The PS5 demo is online-only and cannot be played offline, according to that same store listing. It also says that once you create save data in the full game, you can no longer play the demo. Those are PS5-specific terms in the listing and should not be assumed to describe the Steam version.

Save carryover is not the same as cross-platform progression: the cited information describes transfer into the full game, with a same-console and same-account requirement on PS5.

No. The demo completion offer required players to finish the demo by February 15, 2026, so that deadline has passed. The PlayStation Store listing says that from February 16, 2026, the Twin-Snake Helmet became a rare drop from Jakotsu-baba in the full game.
