Roblox’s official help instructions reviewed for this article do not state that accounts are automatically deleted for inactivity, and they give no inactivity deadline. Roblox does explain how an account holder can request deletion. That means you should not assume an unused account will be deleted after a particular period—or that it is guaranteed to remain forever.
Does Roblox automatically delete accounts for inactivity?
Roblox’s help article about deactivating or deleting an account describes deletion as something the account holder requests. It does not say that inactivity alone triggers deletion. The official material reviewed does not establish an inactivity cutoff, a grace period, or a promise that an unused account will be kept indefinitely. Read Roblox’s account deactivation and deletion instructions.
This is different from saying that no unpublished or separately documented inactivity policy exists: the reviewed help material does not settle that question. If the status of a particular account matters, check Roblox’s current guidance or contact Support rather than relying on a rumored deadline.
How to request deletion of your Roblox account
- Sign in and open Roblox Privacy settings.
- Under Account data, deactivation & deletion, choose Delete and follow the instructions to submit the request.
- Be prepared for Roblox to verify your identity. Roblox’s help instructions say the account must have a verified email address.
- If you cannot sign in or need help with deletion, use the Roblox Support form.
Deactivation and deletion are different
| Option | What happens | Can you reverse it? |
|---|---|---|
| Deactivation | Roblox says the account is disabled and the profile is hidden. Some information, including Marketplace listings, may still be visible. | Yes. Roblox says you can reactivate by logging in. |
| Deletion request | You ask Roblox to remove the account, and Roblox says it takes steps to verify your identity. This is not the same as temporarily hiding a profile. | The support instructions do not describe deletion as a reversible option. |
Choose deactivation if you want a reversible break. If you want the account removed, use the deletion request process instead. See Roblox’s instructions for both options.

Does deletion erase every record immediately?
Not necessarily. Roblox’s Right to Access Reports help article says that some data may remain stored after an account deletion request when it must be retained for tax, legal, or security purposes. A deletion request therefore should not be understood as a guarantee that every associated record disappears at once. Roblox explains this in its Right to Access Reports article.
What if you cannot access an old account?
An account you cannot sign in to is not necessarily deleted or deactivated; lack of access by itself does not establish its status. If you want it removed but cannot log in, Roblox directs users to contact Support through its support form. Avoid third-party recovery services when dealing with account access or deletion.
