Yes—SEGA is still named in the original Bayonetta’s copyright notice, and PlatinumGames identifies BAYONETTA as a SEGA trademark. But the public credits do not establish that SEGA alone owns every right across the series: Nintendo publishes Bayonetta 2 and Bayonetta 3, whose credits also name SEGA, while PlatinumGames is credited as developer.
What the official credits establish
The clearest public answer comes from the games’ official pages and copyright notices. SEGA’s Bayonetta product page identifies SEGA as seller and publisher, PlatinumGames as developer, and displays “©SEGA.” PlatinumGames’ Bayonetta page likewise says “©SEGA” and identifies BAYONETTA as a registered trademark or trademark of SEGA Holdings Co., Ltd. or its affiliates.

That evidence supports saying SEGA remains associated with the original game’s copyright and the BAYONETTA mark. It does not, by itself, reveal the complete legal allocation of rights across every game, character, or asset in the franchise.
How the later games are credited
The official listings distinguish publisher from developer and show both Nintendo and SEGA in the later games’ credits:

These details come from PlatinumGames’ official pages for Bayonetta, Bayonetta 2, and Bayonetta 3. Nintendo’s copyright listing also names SEGA in the Bayonetta credits and lists Nintendo and SEGA together for later series titles.
Ownership, publishing, and development are different roles
- Copyright and trademark: The original game carries a SEGA copyright notice, and PlatinumGames identifies BAYONETTA as a SEGA mark.
- Publishing: Nintendo is listed as publisher for the cited Switch releases of Bayonetta and for Bayonetta 2 and Bayonetta 3. SEGA is listed as publisher for the original’s cited PlayStation 3/Xbox 360 and PC releases.
- Development: PlatinumGames is credited as developer on the official pages for the original game and the later titles.
A publisher credit does not mean that publisher owns every franchise right. Likewise, a copyright notice or trademark reference does not disclose all contractual arrangements behind a game. The official title credits are public product information, not the underlying agreements.

- Witch fell her angel with her smile and beautiful black hair
- The Nintendo Switch is the origin of the action game series that works with the beautiful and brutal witch "Beyonetta"
- The thrill of throwing off your enemy attacks with a single sheet of paper, and the variety of combos will overwhelm your enemy. You can enjoy brilliant and extreme climax action with the angels of attacking
What the credits do not prove
The public materials do not provide a complete legal map of who owns or controls every sequel, character, or game asset. They therefore do not support either a sweeping claim that Nintendo owns the entire franchise or a claim that SEGA alone owns every right in every later game. The precise conclusion is narrower: SEGA remains named in the original game’s copyright and trademark materials; the cited later games are published by Nintendo, credit SEGA as well, and were developed by PlatinumGames.
SEGA’s video policy says game-footage copyright belongs to SEGA or the legitimate rights holders and advises users to obtain permission from all appropriate rights holders when footage includes third-party intellectual property. That guidance recognizes that rights can vary by content; it does not decide Bayonetta’s ownership.
