Mega Crit published a Slay the Spire 2 Early Access roadmap in April 2026 and recapped its progress in August. The latest official update covered here, dated September 25, 2026, confirms ongoing work but gives no specific date or details for the next patch.
What is on the roadmap?
Mega Crit’s April 17 roadmap grouped plans into features and systems, ongoing work, new content, and further-future items. Its August 14 recap then identified which projects had been added and which were still active.
Reported added by August
- Steam Workshop support
- Initial Bestiary scaffolding
- The Badge/Score system
- Traditional Chinese and Indonesian localization
- Many new cards and relics
These are items the August recap reported as added; the update did not provide a full release-by-release history.
Named as active work in August
- Experimental game modes
- An alternate Act 2
- A new character
The April roadmap also listed an alternate Act 3 and more events and potions among planned content. The August recap did not give updated delivery dates or confirm a revised status for every April item.

Ongoing improvements and further-future plans
The April roadmap described recurring work on bug fixes, compatibility and performance, balance, quality-of-life features, audio polish, and visual polish. It placed ports to other consoles, platforms, and mobile; Steam achievements and trading cards; and “True Victory” with associated content in the further-future category. The August recap did not attach dates to those items.
When is the next update?
No specific next-patch date was announced in the September 25, 2026 Neowsletter. Mega Crit said it had resumed work on features, game modes, content, bug fixes, and quality-of-life improvements, with much of that work being tested internally, but withheld both patch details and timing. That update is more current than the August recap, but it is not a detailed roadmap revision.

- Play it Safe or Risk it All? - In Flip7, you will press your luck by getting dealt cards without revealing the same number twice.
- How to Win - Be the first to reach 200 points in this intense press-your-luck game that tests your risk-taking and strategy abilities.
- Beware of Busting - Rack up points based on the total number value of the cards in front of you but watch out for duplicate numbers that can bust you out of the round.
- Unique Playing Deck - The deck is stacked with multiples of each number, from twelve 12’s, eleven 11’s and so on, along with special action and modifier cards for added excitement.
- Exciting Action Cards: Flip 7 includes Flip Three, Freeze, Second Chance, and Score Modifier cards, adding twists and turns to every round.
The cadence has shifted over time. In April, Mega Crit said it evaluates tasks weekly and prioritizes what feels most impactful. It described beta patches as more frequent than main-branch patches, with beta serving to test experimental changes before they are considered stable for the main branch. In August, the studio said updates would be farther apart for a while, without promising a regular schedule. None of those statements establishes a release date.
Have the new character and alternate Act 2 been dated?
No. The August recap named both as active work, but the official updates cited here do not give dated delivery windows for either. They also do not establish a definitive end date for Early Access. The same caution applies to the alternate Act 3 and the further-future plans: their presence on the April roadmap is not a schedule.

What the roadmap can—and cannot—tell you
The roadmap is useful for understanding the kinds of additions Mega Crit has planned and the status it reported for some work in August. It is not a calendar: the studio says it prioritizes work week by week, and its September update still did not specify when the next patch would arrive. For current status, check Mega Crit’s official Steam announcements; the April roadmap is in The Neowsletter – April 2026.
