No—not in the usual sense. Google describes Chrome’s Dinosaur Game as an endless runner: a collision ends your current run, but there is no ordinary final level or victory screen. The often-repeated claim that the game ends at 99,999 points is disputed, so that score should not be treated as a confirmed finish line.
Does the Chrome Dino game ever end?
Google’s Chrome Design team described the idea as “an endless runner” built as an easter egg for Chrome’s offline page. That means the game has no designed finish line or conventional win ending. You can keep playing until an obstacle ends your run.
In a 2018 interview, Chrome UX engineer Edward Jung described a theoretical maximum of approximately 17 million years, joking that a player’s spacebar might not last that long. This was a playful description of the game’s design, not a practical estimate for a playthrough. Google’s interview with the creators was published September 6, 2018.
What happens when you hit an obstacle?
Hitting an obstacle ends that attempt. It does not unlock a final level, trigger credits, or permanently complete the game. You can start another run.

Does the game stop at 99,999 points?
That is not established as a confirmed ending. A secondary technical article updated July 12, 2026, says the score meter expands beyond five digits after 99,999 and the game continues, citing Chromium’s score-meter source. An older game-history page says the score resets at 99,999. Because those accounts conflict, it is safer not to present 99,999 as a definite stopping point. How to play without waiting for an internet outage
The game is associated with Chrome’s offline page, but Google says you can launch it directly by entering chrome://dino in Chrome’s address bar. You do not need to disconnect from the internet to play.
