No. HogWarp, the multiplayer framework for Hogwarts Legacy, is a Windows-PC mod. It has no supported PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo Switch client, and there is no documented way for a PC player running HogWarp to join a console player. Console copies of the game cannot install or run the framework.
The short answer for every platform
HogWarp is built around the Windows version of Hogwarts Legacy. Its published setup asks you to find the game executable on a PC, use a Login control, authenticate through Discord, start the game, load a save, and open the server list with Right Ctrl. That is a PC launcher-and-files workflow, not an option exposed in the console versions.

Because a console cannot load the HogWarp client, crossplay is not merely disabled by a menu setting. There is no supported console participant for the multiplayer framework. The available evidence does not document a PC-to-console server route, cross-platform matchmaking, or a console version of the mod.
What HogWarp actually is
The Together Team’s Nexus Mods listing describes HogWarp as a “Multiplayer framework for Hogwarts Legacy, targeting roleplay and extension.” That wording matters: it is a community framework layered onto the PC game, rather than an official multiplayer mode supplied by the game publisher.

The listing shows version 0.8.0-beta2 and a page update dated 27 February 2025. Those details identify the version and listing state cited here; they do not guarantee that the same build is compatible with every later game update. Before installing, compare the mod page’s current requirements with the build of Hogwarts Legacy installed on your computer.
HogWarp’s purpose also should not be confused with a full, publisher-supported campaign co-op mode. The framework is presented for multiplayer, roleplay, and extensions. Its existence does not change the official platform support for the base game or add multiplayer services to console editions.
Why console players cannot join
The mod needs a PC game executable
The setup instructions begin by locating the Hogwarts Legacy executable. A Windows mod can add files, load a framework, and start its own launcher or authentication flow around that executable. PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch software is installed and controlled through each console’s platform environment; players do not receive the same executable-level access required by this workflow.

There is no supported console client
A multiplayer framework needs a compatible client on every player’s machine. HogWarp’s published material describes the PC workflow but does not provide a PlayStation, Xbox, or Switch client. Without that client, a console player cannot connect as a supported participant, even if the PC player has successfully reached a HogWarp server.
Official mod support is PC-only
CurseForge’s official Hogwarts Legacy FAQ states: “Hogwarts Legacy mods are currently supported on PC only.” The official Hogwarts Legacy FAQ lists the game on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC, while its mod guidance identifies PC as the supported mod platform. The game’s availability on a console therefore does not imply mod availability there.

What the PC setup tells you about compatibility
The project’s published sequence is useful for understanding the boundary between supported and unsupported systems. On a Windows PC, the process is described as follows:
- Locate the game executable. The launcher needs to know where your PC installation of Hogwarts Legacy is installed.
- Select Login. This starts the framework’s account-authentication step.
- Authenticate with Discord. Complete the Discord sign-in requested by the launcher. This is an account step for the framework, not a console-network login.
- Launch the game. Start Hogwarts Legacy through the workflow described by the project.
- Load a save. Reach a loaded game rather than stopping at the title screen.
- Open the server list. The listed keyboard shortcut is Right Ctrl.
Every step assumes Windows file access and a physical keyboard. A PlayStation, Xbox, or Switch owner cannot substitute the console game icon for the executable step, and there is no documented console equivalent for the Discord-authenticated launcher.
Answers to the questions players ask most often
Does HogWarp work on Xbox or PS5?
No. The current published support information describes HogWarp as a PC framework, while official mod guidance says Hogwarts Legacy mods are supported on PC only. Xbox and PlayStation players cannot install the framework on their console copies.
Can a PC player and a console player play together?
There is no supported or documented PC-to-console crossplay path for HogWarp. A PC player may be able to use the framework with other compatible PC participants, but a console player has no HogWarp client with which to connect.

Can the Nintendo Switch version use the multiplayer mod?
No. The Switch version appears in the official list of game platforms, but the mod support statement remains PC-only. No Switch build or Switch-to-PC HogWarp connection is documented.
Would buying the PC version unlock the mod on a console?
No. A console installation remains a separate platform build. Buying or owning a console copy does not add the Windows executable, launcher, or PC mod files required by HogWarp. To follow the published workflow, you need a compatible Windows PC installation.

Wandrealm is a separate project and should not be treated as another name for HogWarp. Its listing requires a legitimate Steam or Epic Games Store copy on a Windows PC and specifically says that the Xbox app/Game Pass copy is not supported. That requirement is different from a console crossplay feature: it still describes a PC installation, not a client for Xbox, PlayStation, or Switch.

Seeing multiple community multiplayer projects does not change the platform rule. Check each project’s own supported storefront, launcher, game version, and client requirements; do not assume that support for one PC distribution means support for a console edition.

HogWarp’s cited Nexus listing shows 0.8.0-beta2, with the page updated on 27 February 2025. A beta label indicates a development-stage release, and a listed version can become incompatible when the base game changes. Treat the version number as a compatibility checkpoint, not a promise that every current PC installation will work unchanged.
- Confirm that the mod page’s supported game build matches the build installed on your Windows PC.
- Verify that the launcher can find the actual game executable rather than a shortcut or an uninstalled path.
- Complete the required Discord authentication in the launcher before launching the game.
- Load a save before using Right Ctrl to look for the server list.
- If the server list or login control is missing, stop and recheck the project’s current instructions and version compatibility instead of attempting to connect a console copy.
These checks address PC setup failures; they cannot turn an Xbox, PlayStation, or Switch installation into a supported HogWarp client.
What crossplay would require—and what is actually documented
True crossplay would require more than a shared server name. The framework would need a compatible client for each console platform, a distribution and update method approved for that platform, and a documented network protocol that allows the PC and console builds to communicate. None of those console-side components is described in HogWarp’s published setup.
The evidence instead establishes a narrower, practical conclusion: HogWarp is a PC framework whose documented participants follow a Windows launcher flow. The absence of a console client means there is no supported way to add a console friend to a HogWarp session, regardless of whether both players own the same game or use the same internet connection.
Decision checklist
- You have Windows PC, a compatible game installation, and can complete Discord login: You meet the platform assumptions of the published HogWarp workflow; verify the current mod/game version before proceeding.
- You own the game on PlayStation, Xbox, or Switch: HogWarp is not installable on that copy, and you cannot join a HogWarp session from the console.
- You want PC and console friends in one session: HogWarp has no documented PC-to-console crossplay support, so this framework does not satisfy that requirement.
- You are considering Wandrealm: Read its separate requirements carefully; its listing calls for a legitimate Steam or Epic Games Store Windows copy and excludes the Xbox app/Game Pass version.
Bottom line on HogWarp crossplay
HogWarp supports a Windows-PC use case, not console multiplayer. The project’s executable-based launcher and Discord authentication are PC requirements, and official Hogwarts Legacy guidance currently limits mod support to PC. PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch players therefore cannot install HogWarp or join PC players through a documented crossplay feature. Check the project listing against your current PC game build, especially because the cited version is 0.8.0-beta2 from a 27 February 2025 page update.
