The number was 929-55-MARIO, or 929-556-2746. It was not a real plumbing-service line.
What happened when people called?
Illumination’s “Super Mario Bros. Plumbing” commercial promoted The Super Mario Bros. Movie with the number 929-55-MARIO. A February 12, 2023 report said callers heard a Luigi voice message and were invited to text for movie updates. That is a report of the campaign-era experience, not confirmation that the same message or text service is available now. Niche Gamer’s 2023 report
Does it work now?
There is no verified current status for calls or texts, so it is not possible to say that the number still works as it did during the promotion. A later guide described calls and automated texts, but that account does not establish that the service remains active in October 2026. No current official status statement is available in the cited material.
The number is associated with a fictional business used to promote a movie. Do not treat it as a way to request plumbing service or assume a voicemail is answered by Mario or Luigi in person.
