- Turn on the Xbox One and the X25 controller.
- Start the console’s normal wireless-controller pairing process, then press the controller’s pairing button when the console asks for a device.
- Wait for the Xbox button light to stop flashing and remain steady. That indicates the wireless link has been established.
- Test the sticks and buttons in a game or the console dashboard before disconnecting any existing controller.
Menu wording can vary slightly by Xbox One system software, but you should use the console’s built-in “add” or “pair controller” flow rather than looking for the X25 in the Bluetooth settings. Xbox Wireless consoles do not pair this controller through the phone-style Bluetooth menu.

Xbox Series X and Series S: both are compatible
The X25 works with both current Xbox Series console models. Series X and Series S use Xbox Wireless for the controller connection, so the setup is the same in principle as Xbox One: put the console and controller into their pairing modes, select the controller when it appears, and wait for the Xbox button light to become steady.
Once paired, the controller can be used for ordinary gameplay and dashboard navigation. Windows 10 and Windows 11: Bluetooth play, USB-C for configuration
Windows 10 and Windows 11 PCs are supported over Bluetooth. This is the simplest wireless option when the computer has working Bluetooth hardware. Microsoft also identifies a separate USB-C requirement for Xbox Accessories app features: the Windows app needs a compatible USB-C cable, and the cable is sold separately.
Bluetooth connection

Button mapping and Xbox Accessories
If you need to remap buttons or manage supported controller settings in the Xbox Accessories app on Windows, connect the X25 with a compatible USB-C cable. Microsoft specifically says the cable is required for the Windows app and is not included as part of that requirement. A cable that only supplies power may not provide the data connection the app needs, so use a USB-C cable capable of data transfer.
The Xbox Accessories app supports button mapping on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Windows 10/11. The app requirement does not mean the controller is unusable over Bluetooth; it means that some configuration work is performed through a wired USB-C connection.

iPhone and iOS: Bluetooth support with device and OS limits
The X25 listing includes iOS among Bluetooth-supported platforms. Xbox’s compatibility information also lists iOS, while warning that compatibility depends on the selected device and operating-system version. How to pair with an iPhone
- Open the iPhone’s Bluetooth settings.
- Put the X25 into Bluetooth pairing mode using the controller’s pairing control.
- Select the Xbox controller when it appears in the list of nearby devices.
- Wait for iOS to show the controller as connected, then launch a game that supports external controllers.
If the controller does not appear, confirm that it is not still connected to an Xbox or PC, turn Bluetooth off and on again, and repeat the pairing process. For an older iPhone or an iPhone running an older iOS release, check Microsoft’s current compatibility page before assuming the failure is caused by the controller.

Switching between devices
Xbox says users can pair and switch between devices including Xbox Series X, Series S, Xbox One, Windows 10 PC, Android and iOS. The practical implication is that the X25 can serve as a controller across your console, computer and phone rather than requiring a different pad for each platform.
Switching does not make Xbox Wireless and Bluetooth the same connection. Xbox consoles use Xbox Wireless, while Windows PCs and iPhones in this compatibility description use Bluetooth. If a device does not reconnect automatically, place the controller into pairing mode again and select it from that device’s controller or Bluetooth list.

The Xbox cannot find the X25
