But that does not mean every Ubisoft game supports cloud saves, or that a save automatically transfers between PC and console. Cross-platform continuation depends on the specific game and platform pair.
What Ubisoft Connect saves—and where
Ubisoft’s cloud-save feature applies to supported games available through Ubisoft Connect PC. Ubisoft says supported titles have cloud-save synchronization enabled by default; the feature is not universal across the catalog. See Ubisoft’s cloud-save settings guidance for the current support details.
Check the cloud-save setting on PC
- Open Ubisoft Connect PC and select your profile menu.
- Choose Settings, then General.
- Check Enable cloud save synchronisation for supported games. Turn it on if needed.
- Launch the supported game again; Ubisoft says a setting change takes effect the next time a supported game launches.
This setting concerns syncing supported PC saves. It does not establish that a particular game can carry progress to a console or another platform.
Can you continue a save on another platform?
Only when the game supports cross-progression for the specific platform combination. Ubisoft defines cross-progression as access to a game’s progression on a platform linked to the Ubisoft account where the player owns the game. Ubisoft notes that availability varies by game and platform, and you may need to own the game on the destination platform. Check the current support page for the exact title and destination before assuming a transfer will work: Ubisoft’s cross-play and cross-progression overview.

Use the same linked account, and avoid casual unlinking
Where cross-progression is supported, the relevant platform account must be linked to the Ubisoft account. Ubisoft warns that unlinking can have lasting consequences, including a restriction on linking a different platform account. Review Ubisoft’s account-linking guidance before changing links.
Some transfers are manual
Transfer steps are game-specific. For example, Ubisoft’s Far Cry 6 instructions require uploading the save to the cloud on the current platform, then loading it from the cloud on the new platform. Do not assume a cloud save will appear on another platform without checking the game’s own instructions.

What to do if progress is missing or a save is damaged
- Check cloud syncing: In Ubisoft Connect PC, open your profile menu → Settings → General and verify the cloud-save option for supported games.
- Verify the game supports the feature: Cloud saves and cross-progression are separate; check the support information for the specific title and platform combination.
- Confirm the account: Make sure you are using the Ubisoft account associated with the save and that any required platform account is linked.
- Protect a local backup before restoring: Ubisoft provides instructions for restoring a PC save folder from backup and notes that Windows File History may also contain a backup. Follow the steps for your game in Ubisoft’s PC save-restoration guidance.
If Ubisoft Connect reports a corrupted cloud save
Ubisoft documents a recovery flow that disables synchronization, creates a new local save, re-enables synchronization, and then asks you to choose the local save. That choice can replace cloud data, so do not proceed until you have protected any local backup you may need. Read the applicable instructions in Ubisoft’s cloud-save troubleshooting guidance before choosing between local and cloud versions.
