Nintendo’s character descriptions identify Waluigi as Wario’s accomplice and Luigi’s self-proclaimed rival, while Rosalina is described as a traveler and adoptive mother to the Lumas. The official pages reviewed do not say Waluigi has a crush on her.
What Nintendo says about Waluigi and Rosalina
Nintendo’s UK character page calls Waluigi “Wario’s pal and accomplice” and “the self-proclaimed rival of Luigi.” It describes Rosalina as a mysterious traveler who journeys with the Lumas, whom she considers her family and whose adoptive mother she is.
Nintendo’s Super Mario Party character page similarly describes Waluigi as Wario’s sidekick and Luigi’s biggest rival “(or so he thinks),” and Rosalina as an interstellar observer, protector of the Lumas, and friend to Mario. Neither page describes a romance between Waluigi and Rosalina.
Why people may connect them
Nintendo lists Mario Kart 8 Deluxe among the selected games featuring both characters, and both appear on the Super Mario Party character page. Those shared appearances show that they belong to the same game casts; they do not establish that either character is romantically interested in the other.

- ROSALINA GIFTS FOR KIDS AND COLLECTORS: A thoughtful birthday or Christmas gift for Mario fans 3 and up. The window box doubles as display packaging for collectors building a Wave 1 set.
- COLLECT THEM ALL: Rosalina joins Mario, Yoshi and Bowser Jr. in Wave 1, each sold separately, so kids and collectors can build their set of Super Mario Galaxy toys and figurines.
Fans may interpret character pairings or create “ships,” but that is fan interpretation rather than a relationship confirmed by the official descriptions cited here. A fan-maintained Super Mario Wiki entry discusses a separate Waluigi-crush claim connected to a Mario Party 4 guide, but it does not substantiate a Rosalina-specific crush.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What can be concluded
The careful answer is that Waluigi’s crush on Rosalina is not established by the official material cited here. That is different from claiming Nintendo has issued a universal denial: the character pages simply do not make the romantic claim.
