WoW Classic 20th Anniversary Edition has the Stranglethorn Fishing Extravaganza in Phase 4. Blizzard lists it as a weekly event in Stranglethorn Vale, beginning Sundays at 14:00 server time. That confirmation is specific to the 20th Anniversary Edition’s Phase 4; it does not establish availability on every WoW Classic ruleset or realm.
How the Stranglethorn Fishing Extravaganza works
At the scheduled time, a shout announces the event across Stranglethorn. Players fish Speckled Tastyfish from pools around Northern Stranglethorn and the Cape of Stranglethorn, then race to deliver 40 of them to Riggle Bassbait in Booty Bay. The first three players on each realm to make the turn-in win that week. Blizzard’s event page gives the schedule and rules; its Phase 4 announcement confirms the event for the 20th Anniversary Edition.
What can you win?
Blizzard lists prizes including the Hook of the Master Angler, Boots of the Bay, the Arcanite Fishing Pole, and High Test Eternium Fishing Line. The event also features rare fish that can be traded to Fishbot 5000 for additional rewards. First-, second-, and third-place finishers receive the Master Angler of Azeroth achievement. What Fishing skill should you have?
Fishing skill 150 is the minimum reported by Wowhead’s WoW Classic guide for fishing in Stranglethorn Vale waters. The guide recommends aiming for 225 as a more practical target to reduce the chance of fish getting away. This is preparation advice, not an official tournament entry requirement.

Does it run on your Classic version?
The confirmed answer is yes for WoW Classic 20th Anniversary Edition Phase 4. The cited official sources do not establish current availability across every Classic edition, ruleset, or realm. If you play a different version, check its current event schedule rather than assuming the 20th Anniversary Edition confirmation applies.
