To keep pre-recorded videos playing as a live broadcast, use a separate live-stream workflow—not a Premiere.
What a YouTube Premiere does
A Premiere is a scheduled or immediate release of an uploaded video. Viewers gather for a countdown and then watch that video together in real time. They can rewind, but cannot fast-forward past the point currently reached in the shared viewing experience. When the Premiere ends, the video remains on the channel as a regular upload; YouTube’s instructions do not describe it restarting or advancing to another playlist item. YouTube’s Premiere guide and its Premiere tips describe scheduled video releases, not continuous playlist broadcasts.
YouTube distinguishes Premieres from live streams: live streams broadcast media in real time, while a Premiere lets viewers watch a new video with its creator and community. A Premiere’s pre-release landing page and shared viewing do not make it an always-on channel. YouTube’s live-stream viewing guidance explains the distinction.
Premiere format limits
YouTube says Shorts are not supported for Premieres, and 360/VR180 video or output above 1080p is not supported. These source-video limits do not change the central point: a Premiere is for one video, not a repeating playlist.

What to use for a continuous broadcast instead
Use an encoder-based YouTube live stream as the broadcast path, then arrange for a source to provide the media you want to play. YouTube documents streaming with an encoder, including software and hardware options, but that does not by itself establish playlist repetition or uninterrupted 24/7 operation. The encoder is one part of the setup, not a playlist player or a guarantee of uptime. YouTube’s streaming tips describe streaming methods and encoder guidance.
Set up the YouTube side

In YouTube Studio, create or schedule a live stream and choose the encoder workflow. Follow the current live-stream setup prompts for the channel.

In the stream settings, obtain the stream URL and stream key. Treat the key like a password: do not share it publicly, and replace it if you believe it has been exposed. YouTube’s live stream settings guide covers the encoder URL and key.

Configure your encoder or other playback source to send a live feed to YouTube using those details. Separately verify that the source can play the intended playlist, repeat it as needed, and recover after interruptions; YouTube’s encoder setup instructions do not promise those behaviors.

Test the complete path before relying on it for a long broadcast. Check that video and audio reach the intended stream, that the playlist advances and repeats as expected, and that you know how the setup behaves if the source, connection, encoder, or YouTube stream stops.

Check the playlist and the channel before going live

Confirm that the playback source—not just YouTube—supports the playlist order, repeat behavior, and intended runtime.

Plan for recovery. A long-running broadcast depends on the playback source and its connection as well as YouTube; test what happens after a dropped stream or interruption.
