What changed for Dragon Age: Inquisition on Steam Deck?
Steam Deck HQ reported on September 30, 2026, that Inquisition had recently moved from Unsupported to Playable. The outlet says the game had remained Unsupported after controller support was fixed in Proton Experimental. Its earlier report, dated August 28, 2026, described that controller fix: Steam Deck HQ’s report on the Proton Experimental change. The connection between that fix and the later badge change is reported by Steam Deck HQ; Valve has not been cited as officially confirming the reason.
Steam’s Dragon Age: Inquisition store page currently shows the Playable rating. Valve’s compatibility guide explains that “The game may require some manual tweaking by the user to play.” Valve also notes that its review process is ongoing, so ratings can change as compatibility information is updated.
What Playable means in practice
Playable means Steam considers the game usable on Deck, potentially with adjustments. It is not a guarantee of a flawless, no-setup experience, nor is it the stronger Verified designation. The reported Proton Experimental change addressed controller support; it does not establish that every account, launcher, or future update issue has been resolved.

Account and launcher requirements to know about
Steam’s listing says Inquisition requires a third-party EA account and discloses third-party DRM, including EA online activation and Origin client software. Those requirements can add setup friction, but the listing alone does not establish that every player will encounter a particular problem. Steam also lists full controller support.
