What kind of game is Dragon Ball Gekishin Squadra?
Bandai Namco describes Dragon Ball Gekishin Squadra as a “Super Team Battle”: an online team game in which eight players split into two teams of four and control Dragon Ball heroes. The appeal is the combination of recognizable characters and coordinated objective play, rather than a solo action campaign. Bandai Namco’s official game page and the Dragon Ball Official Site launch announcement describe the format and match systems.
How do you win in Gekishin Squadra?
The official objective is to capture enemy strongholds, which are guarded by Gods of Destruction, then seek the Dragon Ball in the opposing territory. The Dragon Ball is the victory objective; defeating opponents is part of the route, not the only stated goal.
Matches also have their own progression loop. Defeating enemies earns EXP; leveling up during the battle unlocks skills and strengthens attacks. The publisher’s launch announcement says players can “unlock new skills, increase the range and power of your attacks, and more!” This means the character you bring into a match can develop as the fight unfolds, while your team still needs to make progress toward the shared objective.

What are the roles in Gekishin Squadra?
Nintendo’s listing groups heroes into three roles. These descriptions identify intended team functions, not evidence that one role or hero is stronger or better balanced than another.

Which platforms support the game, and is it free?
The game is listed for Steam, iOS and Android, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. Bandai Namco describes it as free to play with in-app purchases. “Free” therefore describes the entry price; it does not mean that every optional item is free. Nintendo’s Switch listing explicitly flags in-game purchases, including random items.
Nintendo lists TV, tabletop, and handheld play modes for the Switch version, with online play for one to eight players and a 6.8 GB download. That listing identifies Bandai Namco Entertainment as publisher and GANBARION Co., Ltd. as developer. The player range corresponds to the game’s four-versus-four format; the download size and play modes are specific to the Switch listing.

Does Gekishin Squadra have crossplay and cross-save?
Bandai Namco lists cross-platform play, progression, and commerce. Its account-linking notes say that linking a Bandai Namco ID lets players carry save data across platforms. There is an important currency exception: Dragon Gems, including gems purchased with real money, can only be used on the platform where they were acquired. Items bought with gems can be used across platforms. If you play on more than one system, that makes the platform used for a gem purchase worth considering before you buy.
What is the game’s current live-service status?
As of October 8, 2026, the official site displayed “Season 7.4 Patch Notes Now Available!” dated October 7, 2026, alongside an “Overhaul Information #1” notice also dated October 7. The official Dragon Ball anniversary announcement says Season 7 began with first-anniversary campaigns and introduced Super Gogeta as a Technical hero.
That September 9, 2026 announcement described limited-time login rewards and free G-Capsule draws, offering up to 140 G-Capsules across two limited-time halves. Those campaign windows are historical: the announcement does not establish that the rewards remain available now. Check the official site for current notices rather than treating a past campaign as an active offer.
What can—and can’t—this review establish?
The official materials support a useful overview of the format, objectives, progression, roles, platforms, purchase structure, and account features. They are not enough to judge controls, performance, matchmaking, learning curve, balance, monetization fairness, or how engaging the game remains over time. No independent player-population figure, review score, or balance win rate is established by these sources either. A verdict on those qualities requires firsthand play or clearly attributed, dated independent reviews; the feature list alone cannot prove them.
