How Gohan’s Episode Battle routes work
Episode Battle lets you replay story battles from the perspective of eight characters, including Gohan. Choices and secondary battle objectives can change what happens next; Bandai Namco’s guide sums up the system with “Your choices matter!” and notes that some outcomes depend on victory conditions as well as choices. The story map lets you revisit decisions and replay a stage to pursue a different route.

Route guides identify five Gohan branch points: four shorter deviations and the larger Frieza Force branch that leads to The Strongest Warrior. The exact hidden timer for most conditions is not confirmed by the publisher, so treat guide-author timings as targets, not guaranteed cutoffs.

Minor branch names differ between route guides: Destructoid assigns the outcomes shown above, while Prima Games lists some names differently. If your game’s stage map or branch arrow uses a different label, follow the in-game node and objective; the discrepancy does not change the broad reported combat conditions.

How to unlock The Strongest Warrior
- Open Gohan’s Episode Battle map and select Defend Earth from Frieza Force.
- Defeat Frieza’s soldier, then attack Frieza and reduce his health to two bars before the stage’s time condition expires.
- If the route opens, continue into The Strongest Warrior. A reported alternate-scene cue is Frieza transforming into Golden Frieza without Goku stepping in.
The 1:26 time reported by one guide author is a useful pace target, not a guaranteed limit. Check the alternate objective in the game’s pause or battle-details interface before retrying. If the branch does not appear, replay the node and focus on reaching the required Frieza health state faster; the exact hidden threshold has not been verified.
How to unlock Gohan’s other alternate endings
Unleashed Rage: Peace Reclaimed
Win against Cell within the stage’s time window. No confirmed exact cutoff is available, so prioritize damage and avoid extending the fight with unnecessary exchanges.

What to do when a branch does not unlock
- Pause during the relevant fight and inspect its battle details or alternate objective so you know which win condition the game is tracking.
- Confirm you are replaying the correct stage node; branch outcomes are tied to specific points on Gohan’s map.
- Retry with a faster win if the condition is timed. For most branches, no verified public timer is available, so do not treat another player’s time as a guaranteed cutoff.
- After meeting the objective, check the story map for a newly opened arrow or node and continue from there.
Scope and availability
This guide covers Gohan’s Episode Battle route in DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO, not the separately released Super Limit-Breaking NEO content. Bandai Namco’s current game modes page lists the base game on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, Switch, and Switch 2. Its July 30, 2026 announcement says Super Limit-Breaking NEO launched for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam, with Switch and Switch 2 versions planned for a later date; check the relevant platform store for current availability.
