To reach the alternate route in “Into a Third Future,” clear the battle’s speed-focused secondary objective. The fast clear is described as a sequence through Zamasu, Goku Black Rosé, and Fused Zamasu—not just the first two opponents. No verified timer or exact trigger threshold is established, so focus on dealing damage efficiently throughout the entire sequence.
What you need to do
“Into a Third Future” is an Episode Battle. Episode Battle’s secondary objectives can change story outcomes, and the mission’s quick-clear route is associated with an alternate stage or scenario. The mission summaries identify the opponents in order as Zamasu, Goku Black Rosé, and Fused Zamasu; plan to finish the full sequence quickly.
Bandai Namco Europe’s Game Modes Handbook explains that completing secondary objectives can influence characters and lead to different outcomes. Its story map also lets you revisit earlier history and change choices.
How to deal damage quickly
Keep pressure on each opponent and avoid drawn-out exchanges where you can. That is a practical way to pursue a quick clear, not a confirmed hidden mechanic or guaranteed route trigger.

Player-reported Sparking combo
One Steam player’s suggested approach is to enter Sparking mode, use a homing dash to get behind the opponent, continue with a rush combo, then finish with an Ultimate. Treat this as community advice rather than a tested optimal combo: timing, execution, and results can vary.
Save time for Fused Zamasu
Do not spend so long on the opening fights that the final opponent becomes a bottleneck. Steam players recommend damaging Zamasu and Black quickly so there is time left for Fused Zamasu. For that last fight, community suggestions include building or saving toward Sparking and answering one of his supers with a super of your own; a player also reports winning a beam clash. These are optional ideas, especially if you are comfortable with clash timing, not guaranteed solutions.

If the alternate route does not appear
Return to the “Into a Third Future” node on the story map and replay the battle, aiming to clear the whole sequence faster. Bandai Namco describes the map as a way to revisit earlier history and alter choices, so you can retry the relevant objective without restarting the entire story.

The available mission descriptions do not establish an exact number of seconds, a health threshold, or a universally reliable combo. IGN’s indexed description names all three opponents in the fast clear, while Game8’s indexed walkthrough summary says defeating Zamasu and Goku Black in a short span unlocks an alternate stage. Because neither supplies a verified trigger threshold, treat the objective as a quick clear across the sequence and include Fused Zamasu in your attempt.
