To host Dragon Ball Zeef with friends, install the client ZIP as a separate Minecraft Forge 1.7.10 instance and build the dedicated server from the matching DBZSERVERPACK2.5.zip. Dragon Ball Zeef’s listed 2.5 release uses Forge 10.13.4.1614; never treat the client archive and server pack as interchangeable.
Running a modpack with friends? Godlike.Host offers modded Minecraft server hosting with one-click modpacks (CurseForge, FTB, Technic) and free DDoS protection.
Dragon Ball Zeef is a Minecraft 1.7.10 Forge modpack centered on JinGames’ Dragon Block C, with additional mods for adventure, role-playing, combat, exploration and multiplayer. The currently listed release is 2.5. A reliable setup depends on keeping the client and server on that same release and using the dedicated server artifact rather than uploading a normal client installation.

Client ZIP and server pack: what is different?
The client ZIP
Dragon Ball Zeef-2.5.zip is the player-side distribution. It contains the files a launcher needs to create the Forge instance used to join a world. Install it as its own instance so its 1.7.10 libraries, mods and configuration do not collide with another modpack.

The dedicated server pack
DBZSERVERPACK2.5.zip is prepared for a server installation. It should be unpacked into a clean server directory or uploaded through a host’s file manager according to that host’s procedure. A client directory can contain launcher metadata, client-only files and a different layout; uploading it wholesale can produce missing-mod, startup or class-loading errors.
Why matching matters
- Use the 2.5 client with the 2.5 server pack.
- Keep Minecraft at 1.7.10 on both sides.
- Use the Forge build associated with the pack, reported as 10.13.4.1614.
- Keep the release’s manifest and override files together when moving the server pack.
If a launcher or host offers an automatic import, confirm that it selected the same release rather than the newest file with a similar name.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsPreparation checklist
Complete these checks before changing a server panel or inviting players:
- Download both 2.5 archives and verify that their filenames identify the same release.
- Choose a separate local folder for the client instance.
- Choose a separate, empty server folder or a new managed-server installation.
- Make a backup location for the world, configuration and any server files you change.
- Confirm that your host supports Forge 1.7.10 and allows a custom server JAR or equivalent startup configuration.
- Have one test player available for the first connection attempt.
No official table in the available project information defines a required CPU, memory amount, player limit or tick-rate target. Treat performance as something to measure after your world and player count are known, not as a guaranteed specification.
Install the client as a separate Forge instance
GDLauncher documents a direct installation path for this pack. The labels can change between launcher versions, but the sequence is:

- Open GDLauncher and choose the option to create a new instance.
- Select Minecraft 1.7.10 and Forge, using the supported Forge version offered for the pack.
- Open the instance’s Addons section.
- Paste the quick-install identifier
#dbzeef. - Allow the launcher to resolve and download the pack’s dependencies.
- Launch the instance once after installation. Check the title screen or instance information for Minecraft 1.7.10 and Forge before attempting to join a server.
Keep this instance isolated from vanilla Minecraft and from other modpacks. If you use a different launcher, import the client archive using that launcher’s modpack-import function rather than copying files into an existing profile. The important result is a clean Forge 1.7.10 profile containing the 2.5 client files.

Build a dedicated server from the 2.5 server pack
For a self-hosted machine
- Download
DBZSERVERPACK2.5.zip, not the ordinary client ZIP. - Create a new server directory with enough free storage for the pack, generated world and backups.
- Extract the server pack into that directory, preserving its folder structure, manifest information and override files.
- Configure the machine with a compatible Java and Forge 1.7.10 environment. Do not substitute a different Minecraft or Forge generation simply because it is newer.
- Follow the pack’s included startup instructions or your server software’s Forge startup procedure.
- Start the server with no players connected. Watch the console for Forge or mod errors and allow the initial files and world to be created.
- Stop the server cleanly, copy the world and configuration to your backup location, then start it again for the connection test.
The exact Java executable, memory flags and network settings depend on your operating system and hosting environment, and the pack information does not provide a universal command that is safe for every machine.
For a managed game-server panel
- Create a new server and select Forge 1.7.10 if the panel provides a loader selector.
- Upload the contents of
DBZSERVERPACK2.5.zipthrough the panel’s file manager or its documented modpack installer. - Keep the server-pack release, loader selection, manifest and overrides aligned. Do not upload a client profile as a shortcut.
- Locate the panel’s JAR, server type or startup selector. If the panel requires a custom JAR, choose the custom option and enter the filename or command exactly as the panel documents.
- Save the configuration, start the server and review the complete console output before connecting.
Handle the older custom-JAR instruction carefully
Published instructions for DBZSERVERPACK2.0 tell administrators to delete the existing server files, upload the pack and change the JAR type to custom. That is a version-specific instruction, not proof that every 2.5 panel uses the same labels or startup command.
For 2.5, use this safer process:
- Back up the current world and configuration before removing anything.
- Check whether the panel calls the control JAR type, server type, custom JAR or something else.
- Confirm the exact startup filename or command shown by the panel or host documentation.
- Do not delete an existing installation until you know the upload completed and can restore the backup.
- If the panel automatically installs Forge, verify that its Forge build matches the 2.5 pack instead of assuming the panel’s default is correct.
If the server fails immediately after switching to a custom setting, revert to the backup, recheck the selected JAR and inspect the first Forge error in the console. A generic “server stopped” message is not enough to identify the cause.
First boot and connection test
Validate the server before inviting everyone
- Start the server with the matching 2.5 files in place.
- Wait for Forge and the mod list to finish loading. Record any error that names a missing dependency, incompatible mod or wrong Minecraft version.
- Connect one client using the isolated Dragon Ball Zeef 2.5 instance.
- Enter the world, move between several areas and test one Dragon Block C feature before adding more players.
- Stop the server, back up the new world and configuration, then restart it to confirm that the world loads consistently.
Only after this test should you distribute connection details to your group. Every player should use the same Minecraft version, Forge build and Dragon Ball Zeef release; a successful server boot does not make mismatched clients compatible.

Self-hosting or managed hosting?
| Factor | Self-hosting | Managed hosting |
|---|---|---|
| Setup effort | You install Forge, unpack the server pack, configure startup and maintain files. | The provider may offer a modpack installer or one-click deployment. |
| Control | Direct control over files, Java settings, backups and operating-system access. | Control depends on the panel and plan; some settings may be restricted. |
| Recurring cost | No hosting-plan charge, but you supply hardware, storage, electricity and connectivity. | A monthly server charge; price varies by provider and memory plan. |
| Backups and support | You create and test backups and solve Forge errors yourself. | Backup tools and support may be included, but check retention and restore limits. |
| Network work | You are responsible for reachability, firewall rules and stability. | The provider supplies the public server endpoint and network infrastructure. |
| Java and startup changes | Usually fully adjustable on your machine. | Available options depend on the provider’s panel and policy. |
Managed hosting is useful when you do not want to maintain a Java/Forge installation or expose a home connection. Game Host Bros advertises one-click Dragon Ball Zeef deployment for Forge 1.7.10, inclusion of the server pack, NVMe storage and DDoS protection. Its listed starting plan was 6 GB at $11.99 per month when the information was collected. Those are the provider’s commercial and hardware claims, not independent performance measurements; confirm current price, availability, backup terms and cancellation rules before purchase.
How much RAM and CPU do you need?
There is no independent benchmark or official Dragon Ball Zeef table establishing a guaranteed memory requirement, CPU model, tick rate or maximum player count. The available hosting guidance says the pack runs best with at least 6 GB of RAM and suggests 10 GB or more for busier servers. Treat those figures as a vendor recommendation, not a promise that a specific number of players will run smoothly.
Use an incremental sizing process:
- Start with the memory plan or machine you can monitor and adjust.
- Test with the actual world and a representative number of players.
- Watch memory use, CPU saturation and server tick time during exploration and combat, not only while everyone is standing still.
- Increase resources only when measurements show a sustained bottleneck.
- Keep backups before changing Java or panel memory settings.
World generation, mod activity and player behavior can change resource use, so a capacity estimate from an empty test world is not a reliable player limit.

The client cannot connect because of a mod mismatch
Confirm both sides use the 2.5 release, Minecraft 1.7.10 and Forge 10.13.4.1614. Reinstall the client instance from the 2.5 archive if its mods or configuration were edited. On the server, restore the matching server pack instead of copying individual files from a client.

The server stops during startup
Read the first Forge or mod error in the console, not only the final shutdown line. Check that the panel is using its custom-JAR setting correctly, that the server-pack files were extracted into the directory the panel actually starts, and that no files from another release remain. Restore the pre-change backup if you are unsure which files were replaced.

The panel starts vanilla Minecraft
A successful process launch does not prove that Forge loaded. Inspect the startup selection and console for Forge initialization. If the panel has separate loader and JAR controls, set both according to its 2.5 instructions; a default vanilla JAR will not load the modpack.
Players time out or cannot reach the server
First test locally or with one known-good client. Then check the host’s endpoint, firewall and network instructions. If the connection reaches the server but is rejected, return to version and mod matching; if it never reaches the console, investigate network configuration rather than changing the mod list.
The server lags as more players join
Measure memory, CPU and tick time while the problem occurs. Compare the readings with the world’s activity and player count, then adjust resources or reduce simultaneous load. Because no official capacity number exists, keep a written record of the conditions that produce acceptable performance instead of advertising an unsupported player limit.

Before every pack change, copy the world, configuration and server-specific files to a separate location. Test the backup by opening or restoring it in a temporary server directory. For an update, create a copy of the existing installation, apply the new client and matching server artifacts there, and connect with one test player. Keep the old release intact until the new world loads and the group confirms that required features work.
To roll back, stop the server, restore the previous server files and world together, and have every player return to the corresponding client release. Restoring only the world or only the mods can leave configuration and registry data out of sync.
Recommended setup in one decision
Choose self-hosting if you are comfortable maintaining Java, Forge, files, backups and network access. Choose managed hosting if you prefer a panel and provider support, while verifying that it offers Forge 1.7.10 and accepts the 2.5 server pack. Whichever route you choose, the non-negotiable rule is the same: install Dragon Ball Zeef-2.5.zip for players, deploy DBZSERVERPACK2.5.zip for the server, and test one matching client before opening the world to the group.
