Start A Case of Sculptor’s Block by speaking to Klark at his estate in Vernworth’s Noble Quarter. Meet the sculptor Fulvio at his workshop in Bakbattahl, then help him sketch a griffin by keeping the encounter going long enough for him to work. A preserved Medusa Head is optional: walkthroughs report it gives the highest gold reward, but a prolonged fight can still earn the successful-sketch reward. No dependable exact fight duration is established.
How to start A Case of Sculptor’s Block
- Speak with Klark at his estate in Vernworth’s Noble Quarter to accept the quest.
- Travel to Bakbattahl and speak with Fulvio at his workshop about sketching the griffin.
- Go with Fulvio to the griffin meeting place and help him complete the sketch during the encounter.

How to help Fulvio sketch the griffin
Do not rush to kill the griffin. The quest objective is described as an extended battle, giving Fulvio time to sketch. Keep the encounter going and protect Fulvio; walkthrough reporting lists ending the fight too quickly or Fulvio dying among the poor-outcome risks. Is a Medusa Head required for the best reward?
No. You can get a satisfactory sketch by prolonging the ordinary fight, without hunting a Medusa. If you have a preserved Medusa Head, the optional route is to use it to petrify the griffin. The cited walkthroughs report that this route pays the most gold. It requires the extra preparation of obtaining and preserving the head; the standard extended-fight route avoids that detour. How to finish the quest
- After the griffin encounter, pass time and check back with Fulvio to see his progress. Guides differ on whether this takes at least a day or a few days, so check again after time has passed rather than relying on an exact interval.
- Return to Klark’s estate in Vernworth and attend the unveiling to complete the quest.
