Short answer: Capcom confirms that relic hunting is an unearth-and-appraise activity in Norgan, the snowy northern region added by Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen. However, no official numerical drop rates, universal relic reset timer or measured best farming location has been published. Treat route recommendations as provisional gameplay advice rather than proven optimization.
The expansion launched on October 9, 2026, is sold separately for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, and requires the Dragon’s Dogma 2 base game.

Relic farming at a glance
| Question | What is established | What is not established |
|---|---|---|
| Where do relics belong? | Norgan, the snowy northern region in Dark Arisen. | A ranked list of subareas with measured yields. |
| How are relics obtained? | Recent guide coverage describes combat and exploration as the sources, followed by appraisal. | An official enemy, chest or gathering-point drop table. |
| What are the drop rates? | No attributable percentage or tier probability is published in the available official material. | Reliable percentages by source, enemy, chest or relic tier. |
| When do sources reset? | No relic-specific reset interval is confirmed. | A universal timer tied to resting, travel, sleeping or any other action. |
| What is the best location? | Norgan is the confirmed setting for relic activity. | A controlled comparison proving one route is superior. |
| What does the expansion include? | Capcom advertises 12 dungeon challenges in the existing game world. | Evidence that all 12 challenges are equal relic-farming opportunities. |
The 12-dungeon figure is a feature count, not a farming statistic. It should not be converted into an assumed number of relic sources or a relic-per-hour estimate.

What relic farming is in Dark Arisen
Capcom’s product description defines the central loop as: “Unearth and appraise forgotten relics to unlock powerful new weapons and skills that will aid you on your journey.” That wording establishes two separate actions. You first find or unearth a forgotten relic, then appraise it so its reward can be revealed or claimed. The listing does not specify an appraisal percentage, a tier table, a guaranteed reward schedule or the identity of a particular appraiser.
#1 Best Overall
- A Grand Adventure – Dragon’s Dogma 2 begins in a subterranean jail, where the Dragon’s voice echoes in the fog of lost memories. With their heart taken by the Dragon, the Arisen is set on a path to slay that symbol of the world’s destruction as it soars through the sky on massive wings, breathing flames that scorch everything in its path. With the Arisen’s future veiled in mystery, what challenges and triumphs await on the path to their destiny?
- Single-Player Cooperation – Up to three mysterious otherworldly beings, known as Pawns, accompany the Arisen throughout their journey. Pawns create the feeling of a cooperative gameplay experience by offering unique characteristics, skills, and knowledge gained from their experiences with other Arisen.
- Made with RE ENGINE – Capcom’s advanced RE ENGINE produces vividly detailed, high fidelity graphics combined with immersive physics and complex and reactive character AI to create a setting where decisions, and their consequences, come to life.
Norgan is the expansion’s snowy northern region and the confirmed setting for the relic adventure. The expansion also adds 12 dungeon challenges to the existing game world. Those facts explain where the system sits in the wider game, but they do not establish that every dungeon, enemy group or chest has an identical relic chance.
What you need before farming
- The base game: Capcom states that Dark Arisen cannot be used without Dragon’s Dogma 2.
- The expansion on your platform: Capcom lists PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, with the expansion available separately.
- Access to Norgan: Relic activity is associated with the expansion’s northern region, not with a general base-game farming table.
- A way to record results: Because official rates are absent, notes about source type, route time and relics found are more useful than an unsupported percentage.
No price, bundle contents or physical-edition availability is established here. Check the store listing for your own platform before buying; the expansion requirement is the important compatibility check.
How the relic loop works
The following workflow reflects the confirmed unearth-and-appraise design and the broad combat-plus-exploration approach described in recent guide coverage. It is a practical routine, not an official optimal route.
- Enter the expansion content and reach Norgan. Confirm that the expansion is installed on the same platform account as the base game.
- Choose a repeatable circuit. Combine nearby exploration with enemy encounters rather than relying on a single unverified source type. Keep the circuit short enough that you can repeat it consistently.
- Investigate exploration points. Search the areas your route passes through and interact with any object that presents an unearth or equivalent relic prompt. The published material does not identify every object type or provide a complete map.
- Fight encountered enemies. Guide coverage describes combat as another relic or Spoils source. Do not assume that a particular enemy, elite or difficulty has a known percentage unless a future official table supplies one.
- Appraise what you recover. The appraisal step is part of Capcom’s stated mechanic. Follow the in-game prompt available to your character; no universal menu path or appraisal fee is specified in the published information.
- Log the result. Record the route, elapsed time, source type and relic outcome. Separating combat finds from exploration finds prevents a mixed run from being mistaken for a drop-rate test.
- Repeat under the same conditions. Consistent circuits make your own observations more useful, but a personal sample remains local evidence rather than a game-wide rate.
Are Dragon’s Dogma 2 relic drop rates known?
No verified numerical drop rates are available. The official materials do not publish a percentage for an enemy, chest, gathering point or relic tier, and they do not state appraisal odds. Recent guide coverage also cautions that launch-week odds are not established.

That means claims such as “this enemy has a 5% chance,” “every tenth chest contains a relic” or “rare relics are one in 100” should not be presented as facts unless they are backed by a later Capcom table or a clearly documented, large sample. A small personal streak can show what happened in one run; it cannot establish the underlying probability.
| Possible rate question | Current answer |
|---|---|
| Enemy drop percentage | Not stated by Capcom’s published materials. |
| Chest or exploration-point percentage | Not stated. |
| Relic-tier distribution | Not stated. |
| Appraisal success or reward odds | Not stated. |
| Relics per hour | No controlled measurement is available. |
Do not use the “12 dungeon challenges” announcement as a substitute for a rate. It tells you how many challenges Capcom advertises, not how often relics appear in them.
Do relic sources have a known reset timer?
No universal relic-specific reset interval has been established. The available guide coverage does not provide a dependable timer for enemies, chests or gathering points, and Capcom’s published description does not promise one.
General assumptions about resting, sleeping, changing areas or waiting a fixed number of in-game days should therefore remain assumptions. A monster respawn anecdote from another system or region is not evidence of a universal relic reset rule.

How to test a reset for your own route
- Clear and search one defined circuit, writing down the real-world time and every relic source checked.
- Leave the circuit using normal gameplay, and record the action you took and the elapsed in-game time if the game displays it.
- Return after one chosen interval and check the same sources in the same order.
- Repeat the test several times. Mark a source as “not reset” separately from “reset with no relic,” because those are different observations.
- Report the conditions with any result. A timer inferred from one return trip is a hypothesis, not a universal rule.
This method can help you decide whether a circuit is convenient for your own play session. It does not turn a personal observation into an official reset schedule.
What is the best relic-farming location?
Norgan is the only location confirmed for the expansion’s relic adventure. No controlled comparison establishes a best subarea, dungeon, enemy camp or chest route. Recent guide coverage recommends combining combat and exploration, but that advice is not accompanied by comparable yield measurements.
If a guide names a “best” route, read the label as provisional. The route may be useful because it is compact, safe or easy to repeat, yet still produce fewer relics than another route for a different character build or difficulty. Without matching samples, travel times and source definitions, “best” is not a measured conclusion.
| Criterion | Why it matters | What is currently known |
|---|---|---|
| Relic tier or quality | A route producing many low-value relics may be worse for a rare-reward goal. | No published tier-yield comparison. |
| Travel time | Long detours reduce attempts per session. | No route-time measurements supplied. |
| Enemy difficulty | Hard fights can lower practical returns if they consume healing items or time. | No difficulty-to-yield study supplied. |
| Source mix | Combat and exploration may behave differently. | Guides describe both, but no separate rates are published. |
| Reset dependence | A route is less convenient if it requires an unverified respawn cycle. | No universal relic reset is confirmed. |
A cautious route strategy
Until measured data exists, optimize for repeatability rather than a claimed ranking.
Rank #4
- Relic Expedition Cycle – Throughout their journey in the kingdom of Norgan, the Arisen must unearth and appraise forgotten relics to unlock powerful new weapons and skills.
- New Dungeon Challenges – The 12 freshly uncovered Lost Rites dungeons house trials designed by the Pathfinder to sharpen the Arisen’s skills and recover rare equipment once held by past Arisen that now lay dormant.
- Deeper Character Customization – New tattoo and hair options have been added to the already robust character creation tool in Dragon’s Dogma 2 so Arisen and Pawns can have even deeper personalization.
- Now on Nintendo Switch 2 – Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen brings the classic fantasy world of Dragon’s Dogma 2 and the Dark Arisen Expansion to the Nintendo Switch 2 for the first time.
- Pre-order Bonuses – The Norgan Fashion Set - Northern Attire will be available as a pre-order bonus, which can be accessed via in-game storage at launch.
- Start with a compact Norgan circuit that passes through several exploration points and regular combat encounters.
- Keep the circuit boundaries fixed so that each run has the same opportunity count.
- Appraise finds consistently and record whether they came from combat or exploration.
- Measure complete runs, including travel and recovery, instead of counting only the minutes spent fighting.
- Compare at least two circuits using the same character setup and number of runs before deciding which feels more productive.
- Stop treating a route as superior if the difference disappears when travel time or source type is counted.
This is a decision framework, not a claim that one Norgan route has the highest yield. It gives you a fair way to choose a route while the game lacks published comparative data.

A simple log can answer practical questions without pretending to reveal the game’s hidden probability table.
| Field | Example entry |
|---|---|
| Date and platform | 17 October 2026, PC |
| Route identifier | Norgan circuit A |
| Run duration | 22 minutes, including travel |
| Combat sources checked | Count the encounters actually completed |
| Exploration sources checked | Count the points actually searched |
| Relics recovered | Separate combat and exploration totals |
| Appraisal results | Record the reward or outcome shown in game |
| Return condition | Note whether the same sources were available on the next circuit |
After several comparable runs, calculate your own relics-per-hour figure if it helps with planning. Label it as your observed result for that route, character and date; it is not a universal drop rate.

Troubleshooting common relic-farming questions
“I am getting no relics. Is the route broken?”
Not necessarily. No guaranteed rate is published, so a short run with zero finds cannot prove that a source is disabled. Confirm that you are in Norgan content, search the available exploration points, complete the encounters on your circuit and repeat under the same conditions before drawing a conclusion.

“I found a relic but cannot appraise it.”
Appraisal is a confirmed part of the expansion loop, but the published information does not specify a universal NPC, menu path or prerequisite. Follow the prompt presented by your current quest or location and check that the expansion and base game are installed together. Avoid assuming that an unlisted fee, level or quest gate exists unless the game itself displays it.
“A guide gives a precise percentage. Should I use it?”
Check whether the guide explains its sample size, source type, route, date and platform. Without those details, treat the number as an anecdote. The current official descriptions do not provide a percentage to validate it.
“Does resting reset relics?”
There is no confirmed relic-specific rule saying that it does. Record the exact action and interval in your own tests rather than presenting a general-game reset claim as a relic mechanic.

The expansion advertises 12 dungeon challenges, but no published comparison ranks them for relic yield or completion time. A dungeon may be convenient for your build without being the highest-yield location.
What evidence would settle the open questions?
A reliable answer would need more than a single lucky or unlucky run. Useful evidence would include an official table or a transparent community sample that identifies the platform and version, counts every eligible source, separates combat from exploration, records failures as well as successes, and compares routes over enough repetitions to show a meaningful difference.
Until that evidence appears, the accurate position is deliberately limited: relics are unearthed and appraised in Norgan; combat and exploration are the broad sources described by guide coverage; numerical rates, a universal reset schedule and a proven best location remain unresolved.
