Dragonsplague is a contagious Pawn affliction in Dragon’s Dogma 2. If you suspect a Pawn has it, look for a combination of changing, conspicuous eye glow and unusual behavior—not static red eyes alone. A cure item, Dragonsbaulk Draught, is reported as part of Title Update 3.2; older guides saying there is no cure item are out of date, though the exact acquisition and use steps have not been established here.
What causes Dragonsplague, and how does it spread?
Dragonsplague affects Pawns and can spread from one Pawn to another. It can affect both Pawns created by players and Pawns created by Capcom, according to GameSpot’s March 28, 2024 guide.
Capcom later reduced the infection frequency, but the available sources do not establish a precise current transmission formula. There is no verified number of rests, days, or recruitment events that guarantees infection.
How to recognize an infected Pawn
Use several clues together. GameSpot’s pre-update guide describes flickering red eyes that may become persistently glowing, coughing or spitting, and headache animations. It also notes that commands may be met with inconsistent behavior. Capcom’s April 24, 2024 patch notes confirm that glowing eyes on infected Pawns were made more noticeable.

- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- More concerning: eye glow that flickers or changes alongside unusual actions or animations.
- Not enough by itself: steady red eyes. A Pawn’s eye color may be a cosmetic character-creation choice.
Capcom’s update reduced infection frequency and adjusted infected Pawns’ signs to be more noticeable; see the April 24, 2024 update notes. The coughing, spitting, and headache descriptions come from the earlier GameSpot guide, rather than the official patch note.
How to cure Dragonsplague
2026 reporting says Title Update 3.2 added Dragonsbaulk Draught as a cure item. Windows Central’s September 2026 coverage reports the item’s addition. This supersedes the March 2024 GameSpot guide’s statement that a conventional curative item was unavailable.

GameSpot’s March 2024 guide warns that a Pawn reaching a terminal stage could trigger a settlement-wide death event when the Arisen rested at an inn or player-owned home. The guide says the event could kill settlement NPCs and other Pawns, and points to the Eternal Wakestone as a way to revive multiple NPCs afterward.
