To keep it useful, power placeables from a generator in the same sub-fief, keep buildables within that sub-fief’s limits, and protect building pieces from sandstorms. If you need to relocate a base, Funcom’s Base Reconstruction Tool can store and restore it in Hagga Basin, subject to important exclusions and placement rules.
What counts as a buildable?
The Dune: Awakening Community Wiki groups buildables into three practical categories: structures make up the base, placeables provide functions, and decorations personalize it. The wiki notes that its standardized names for structures and decorations may differ from their exact in-game names.

Which tool do you use to build?
The handheld Construction Tool is used to design bases and place buildables. Its construction menu lets you switch among placeables, decorations, and building sets; the selected set determines which pieces are available. The Favorites tab can hold up to 20 entries, which is useful for pieces you place often.

For a practical build sequence, lay out foundations and structural pieces first, then place functional devices and decorations. Keep every buildable within the sub-fief limits: pieces extending beyond them may be unshielded, and the official reconstruction process also requires all buildables to fit within those limits.
How do power and sandstorms affect a base?
The Community Wiki says generators power placeables in the same sub-fief, regardless of their precise position within that sub-fief. A placeable can therefore lose power if its generator runs out of fuel, such as when fuel cells or lubricant are depleted.
The wiki also says sandstorms reduce the durability of unshielded building pieces. Power and storm protection are distinct concerns: having a cave nearby does not substitute for base building pieces or make an unsealed base and its contents safe. Pieces outside sub-fief limits may be unshielded and can collapse during storms.

How to back up and restore a base
Funcom’s official Help Center says the Base Reconstruction Tool is unlocked in the Iron Tier of the Research Menu’s Construction tab, then crafted at a Fabricator or Survival Fabricator. The official article describes it as a way to safely store an owned base and its contents for an indefinite time, but it also specifies exclusions and limits.
Store a base
- Unlock the Base Reconstruction Tool in the Iron Tier of the Research Menu’s Construction tab.
- Craft it at a Fabricator or Survival Fabricator.
- Make sure the sub-fief console is on a foundation, and that all buildables are within sub-fief limits. The base will not be stored if the console sits directly on terrain.
- Equip the tool, point it at the base, and select “Backup Base.”
Restore a stored base
- Equip the Base Reconstruction Tool and select “Place Blueprint.”
- Choose an eligible location, then adjust the hologram to fit the terrain and your preferred orientation.
- Check that the destination passes the restrictions below, then place the base.
What the tool stores—and what it does not
- It stores the owned base and its contents, including placeables and resources, but not assembled vehicles, unfinished vehicles, or Carrier Ornithopter Cargo Containers.
- Additional permissions are not stored. If you restore the base in a different Sietch, you must account for that change.
- You can store up to three owned bases. The same base has a seven-day wait after it is stored and placed before you can store and place that base again.
- The tool cannot be lost on death.
Where restoration is allowed
Both backup and restoration are limited to Hagga Basin. A stored base cannot be placed over another landclaim or in a no-building zone. Restoration also fails if another player is standing in the destination landclaim or if the base overlaps a vehicle. Bases using an Advanced Sub-fief Console cannot be placed in Hagga Basin South.

Recycle a stored base instead
If you no longer want a stored base, the official guide describes a “Recycle” option that converts its contents into resources. It is available from the Reserve tab at an owned sub-fief console or storage container.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is the Base Reconstruction Tool the same as a Solido Replicator?
No. The Community Wiki distinguishes the Base Reconstruction Tool, which stores and restores a base, from the Solido Replicator, which makes a solido blueprint copy without removing the existing base. The wiki describes reconstruction as preserving items such as storage circuits, stored items, and water, but the official Help Center guide cited above covers the Reconstruction Tool rather than verifying the Replicator’s detailed behavior. Treat that distinction as a community-wiki description, not a complete current comparison of every live mechanic.
