When could players preload Dune: Awakening?
PC preloading was scheduled for June 4, 2025, 24 hours before the June 5 head start. Funcom’s preload announcement did not establish a download size or how long a download would take; both depend on the files and connection available to an individual player.
Could you play Dune: Awakening early?
On PC, the June 5 head start was tied to pre-orders of the Deluxe or Ultimate Edition. The Standard Edition pre-order did not include head-start access. Funcom’s edition and launch details describe the distinction.

What the tiers mean in practice
- The recommended tier raises the CPU and GPU requirements, including the listed graphics memory from 6 GB to 8 GB for the NVIDIA option or 12 GB for the AMD option.
- Both tiers specify 16 GB RAM and the same Windows version baseline.
- Allow 60 GB of available SSD space to meet the minimum, or 75 GB for the recommended tier. These are Funcom’s 2025 published figures; they are not a guarantee that later updates will never change storage needs.
What are the console graphics modes?
Funcom describes Performance mode on PS5 and Xbox as 60 fps with Dynamic 4K, and Quality mode as 30 fps with Dynamic 4K. The publisher says PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X provide higher native resolution and enhanced visuals in Quality mode. These console mode descriptions are not PC performance benchmarks. Funcom’s console announcement gives the mode details.
