The guides call this site Duskwood Hill Ruins. It is in Hernand > Alfonso Estate > Duskwood, at the ruins with five blue pillars southeast of Warspike Spearmaker. The five-pillar landmark distinguishes it from the separate Duskwood Waterside Ruins puzzle. PowerPyx’s Duskwood Hill Ruins guide identifies the location; its Ancient Ruins guide lists it as Ancient Ruins 4.

How to solve the five-pillar puzzle
1. Clear the vines
Light an arrow at a nearby brazier and shoot the vines, or use Blinding Flash to clear them. Either method exposes the central mechanism.

Face the row and number the pillars from left to right. Pillar 1, on the far left, cannot be moved; it sets the target height for the other four. As you adjust the pillars, matching heights glow yellow, according to PC Gamer’s solution.

3. Use Stab on the central pillar
The small round pillar has sockets or notches. Use Stab on a socket to make a handle for the dial; each socket operates a different combination of tall pillars. The controls cited by the guides are Shift + right-click on PC, RB + Y on Xbox, and R1 + Triangle on PlayStation. Control prompts can vary with platform or setup, so use the prompt shown in your game.
4. Adjust the pillars in this order
- Move pillars 3, 4, and 5: Use the socket that controls this group and raise them until they are about halfway between the heights of pillars 1 and 2.
- Move pillars 2, 3, and 4: Switch to the socket controlling this group. Raise pillars 3 and 4 until they match fixed pillar 1.
- Move pillars 2 and 5: Use the socket controlling this pair and raise them until they match the others.
The order is based on the groups of pillars each socket moves, not on compass directions or a presumed orientation. The guides differ on the exact socket mapping, so identify each socket by the pillars it moves rather than relying on a notch direction.

5. Confirm completion
The puzzle is complete when all five pillars are level. PC Gamer describes the completed pillars as glowing blue.
What if the dial or puzzle gets out of order?
PC Gamer notes that the dial can be finicky and suggests reloading a previous save if needed. PowerPyx reports that teleporting to another region and returning resets the puzzle. These are guide-reported recovery methods, not guarantees for every game version.

What does the puzzle reward?
PC Gamer says the solution yields an Abyss Cresset and an Abyss Artifact, described as a skill point. PowerPyx’s broader Ancient Ruins guide says solving these environmental puzzles activates a nearby Abyss Cresset, rewarding an Abyss Artifact and a fast-travel point. That guide also notes that ruins appear as white question-mark search areas and can be highlighted with Lantern or Guiding Light.
