The Lost Harvest is paid DLC with its own standalone story about a crashed spice harvester, plus new locations, vehicle and cosmetic items. You do not need to buy The Lost Harvest to access Chapter 2.
What is The Lost Harvest DLC?
The Lost Harvest is a paid, standalone storyline for Dune: Awakening. The Xbox Store listing describes a spice harvester called the Mithra being shot from the sky while in transit. Its wreckage is still burning, the Kirab are searching the remains, and survivors need help. The rescue mission leads into a larger journey involving one of the Imperium’s major threats.

What does The Lost Harvest include?
The Xbox Store listing specifies these DLC additions:
Recommended Free Tools
#1 Best Overall
- A Treadwheel land vehicle with unique animations.
- Three expanded Imperial Testing Stations, with loot, secrets and danger.
- 21 Dune Man building pieces.
- Five base decorations.
- Two armor skins and four weapon skins.
- A Thumper emote.
The listing calls The Lost Harvest “the first major DLC for Dune: Awakening.”
What did Chapter 2 add?
Funcom described Chapter 2 as a free update that continues Dune: Awakening’s main story. Its announced additions included new contracts, dynamic encounters, new archetype armors and character re-customization, among other content. It is not the Mithra rescue story: that belongs to The Lost Harvest.
Rank #2
- For play with Dune: Imperium or Dune: Imperium - Uprising
- 86 new cards
- 9 new Leaders
Funcom later said the complete Book One story would be available at the Xbox launch, after PC players had received the chapters over time. That platform-specific rollout context does not change the distinction between the free story update and paid DLC.

Price, Season Pass and platform details
Funcom’s original announcement gave The Lost Harvest a price of $12.99 and said it was included in the Dune: Awakening Season Pass. The Xbox Store listing also displayed $12.99 and identifies the Season Pass as including the DLC when accessed in 2026. Treat that amount as a store- and market-specific listing, not a guaranteed universal price; check your platform’s store for its current price and bundle terms.
The Xbox Store lists PC and Xbox Series X|S under “Play with,” and says the base game is sold separately. Funcom’s June 4, 2026 Xbox Wire announcement said the Xbox version would launch September 22, 2026, and that the PS5 release would be sold with a disc inside. That announcement concerns the base game and does not establish whether The Lost Harvest is available for PlayStation or included in any physical edition. Check the relevant platform store for DLC availability and edition contents.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Which one should you get?
- Want the main-story continuation? Chapter 2 was a free update; The Lost Harvest is not required for it.
- Want the Mithra rescue plot and DLC-specific items? Those are part of The Lost Harvest.
- Already own the Season Pass? Funcom and the Xbox Store say The Lost Harvest is included, but confirm the terms for your store and edition.
- Choosing by platform? The Xbox listing names PC and Xbox Series X|S. The cited PS5 announcement confirms a physical base game, but does not confirm DLC availability or inclusion.
Release-date references depend on the announcement or listing. Funcom’s initial announcement result gave September 10, 2025; a September 4, 2025 developer-livestream result gave September 9; and the Xbox Store listing accessed in 2026 displayed September 22, 2026. The available official material does not explain the discrepancy as a single platform-independent date. For a purchase, rely on the current listing for your platform.
