The dependable ways to unlock more content are normal progression, Techland’s official Community Maps and Mods features, and The Breach. A separate community-made PC tool, DL2DevMenu, advertises cheat-like options such as God Mode and unlimited stamina, but it is not an official mode, is not a console feature, and can break after major updates or behave unpredictably in multiplayer.
What “Dying Light 2 cheats” actually means
Players use the word cheats for several different things in Dying Light 2. They may be looking for a hidden button combination, a faster way to unlock equipment, new areas made by other players, or a PC mod that changes the rules. Those are not equivalent methods, and treating them as one system leads to bad instructions.

Techland’s official news and patch-notes hub documents ongoing changes to Dying Light 2: Stay Human, including Update 1.29 and later entries. It does not document a universal set of built-in cheat codes or a standard cheat menu. Check the installed game version against the current Techland news and patch-notes page before relying on any version-specific claim.

The three legitimate routes to extra content or altered play
| Route | Official status | Platform and access | Does it change normal progression? | Update and multiplayer considerations |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Normal game progression and official updates | Publisher-supported | Use the features available in your installed edition and version | Progression remains part of the game’s designed systems | Features and requirements can change; consult current patch notes |
| The Breach | Official Techland content pathway | Reached through the game’s supported interface; availability follows the current build | Provides separate experiences, tasks and rewards rather than a cheat toggle | Use the current game version; rewards are earned by completing activities |
| Community Maps and Mods | Official entry point for user-generated experiences | Maps and Mods is available from the main menu in the update documentation | Content can change the scenarios you play, but it is not a universal god-mode switch | Individual creations may behave differently; follow the current platform instructions |
| DL2DevMenu | Community-made third-party PC tool | PC-oriented; no evidence here that it works on consoles | Its repository lists options such as God Mode, unlimited stamina and item controls | The author warns of multiplayer glitches and compatibility failures after major updates |
This table is the practical answer to the title: use the first three routes when you want supported content, and treat the last route as optional external software with meaningful risk.
How official progression and updates affect unlocks
Read the version number before following a guide
Dying Light 2 continues to receive updates. Techland’s Update 1.28 coverage, dated 10 June 2026, describes The Breach, Community Maps and Mods, and changes to the early-game experience. Later patch-note entries can alter menus, requirements or behavior. A guide written for an earlier build may still show an old menu path even when the feature remains available.
On your platform, note the game’s displayed version, then compare it with the latest entry on Techland’s patch-notes page. If the game has just updated, restart it and check the main menu again before concluding that an option is missing. Platform certification can also make an update appear at different times, so “current” should always mean current for your installed build.

Update 1.28 includes early-game adjustments. Those changes are official balancing and onboarding work, not a hidden code that permanently skips progression. If an older walkthrough tells you to complete a particular early mission before a feature appears, verify that instruction against the current build. The safest assumption is that requirements may have moved unless Techland’s current notes confirm the old sequence.
Using The Breach for new experiences and rewards
Techland describes The Breach as an official expansion of the game through community-created experiences. The developer blog quotes Rafał, UGC Program Manager: “The Breach is our way of opening Dying Light 2: Stay Human even more to UGC content, and adding new gameplay ideas, and different kinds of experiences.” The same explanation says players can earn rewards by completing tasks, exploring maps and trying experiences. Read the announcement at Techland’s The Breach developer blog.
That makes The Breach an unlock-and-play route, not a cheat command. You still complete the activities that the experience requires. Rewards can make experimentation more attractive, but they do not establish a general rule that every item, skill or story gate can be bypassed.

What to do when The Breach is not visible
- Confirm that the game has finished downloading and installing the latest update for your platform.
- Return to the main menu rather than relying on a suspended session from before the update.
- Check Techland’s current patch notes for availability or rollout information.
- If the feature is still absent, verify that your edition and platform are supported by the current announcement; do not install an unofficial file to force the menu to appear.
Community Maps and Mods: the official way to try player-made content
Update 1.28 says players can enter the Maps and Mods area from the main menu. This is an official route to user-generated maps and modifications, separate from third-party cheat software. Community creations may offer different layouts, objectives and styles, but their existence does not mean the base campaign has a built-in cheat menu.

Opening Community Maps and Mods
- Launch Dying Light 2: Stay Human and wait at the main menu.
- Select the Maps and Mods option described in the current Techland update documentation.
- Browse the available community experiences and read each entry’s requirements or description.
- Start the selected experience through the in-game interface rather than downloading an unrelated executable.
- Keep your game updated, because a later patch can affect how a community creation loads.
The exact labels can change between builds and platforms. If your screen differs from an older screenshot, use the current menu and patch notes rather than trying to reproduce a button sequence from a previous version.
Pilgrim Outpost, bounties and account linking
The Pilgrim Outpost FAQ describes Community Maps access, Bounties and associated rewards. It also refers to linking your player account and platform. Because portions of that FAQ use older platform wording, treat it as an explanation of the system rather than a guarantee that every sentence matches the current setup screen. Consult the live instructions at Pilgrim Outpost’s FAQ before linking an account.
A cautious setup sequence
- Open the current Pilgrim Outpost FAQ and identify the account and platform requirements shown for your region and device.
- Use the account that is connected to your Dying Light 2 profile; avoid creating a second account simply to test a reward.
- Complete only the linking steps presented by the official service.
- After linking, check the Bounties or Community Maps area in the game and confirm that the reward or activity is associated with the correct platform.
- If a reward does not appear, record your platform, game version and account status before unlinking anything. Repeatedly linking and unlinking can make troubleshooting harder.
Bounties and map rewards are earned through the activities described by the service. They are not proof of a hidden command that grants every item instantly.
DL2DevMenu: what the community PC tool claims to do
The GitHub project DL2DevMenu (Formerly EGameTools) is a community-made PC mod repository. Its description lists cheat-like options including God Mode, unlimited stamina and items, a free camera, and weather or time control. Those are claims made by the project author, not features documented by Techland and not results independently tested for this guide.
The repository is designed with single-player in mind. The author warns that some features may glitch or stop working in multiplayer and that major game updates can break compatibility. That warning is especially important for a live-service game: a tool that worked on one executable build may fail, crash or produce unexpected saves after a patch.
Rank #3
Platform boundary
Nothing in the reviewed material establishes DL2DevMenu as a PlayStation or Xbox feature. Do not install PC mod files on a console, and do not expect a console menu to appear because a PC video demonstrates one. Console players should use the official progression, The Breach and Community Maps routes.
Before using any third-party mod
- Read the project’s current instructions and release notes immediately before use.
- Match the tool’s stated compatibility with the exact game build installed on your PC.
- Back up saves and configuration files before changing anything.
- Use it only in contexts allowed by the game’s terms and your own multiplayer group.
- Assume online or cooperative behavior can be unstable even when the menu opens successfully.
- Remove or disable the tool before troubleshooting a normal game update.
Because compatibility changes, this article intentionally does not give a fixed download version or installation command. The project page is the authoritative place for whatever procedure and release the author currently supports.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Powerful tips that do not require cheats
Separate experimentation from your main save
Use a separate save or profile for unfamiliar community content and any permitted PC experimentation. This keeps a broken mod, unexpected reward behavior or a corrupted session from destroying the progress you care about. Make the backup before launching the altered build, not after a problem appears.
Use official content to test unusual mechanics
If your goal is to see new level ideas, start with The Breach or Community Maps. They are built to provide additional experiences and rewards through supported entry points, so you can explore something different without pretending that an external trainer is part of the standard game.
Check menus after every major update
When a patch lands, first verify that your save loads normally, then inspect Maps and Mods and The Breach from a fresh main-menu session. Only after that should you revisit a community tool. This order isolates an official update problem from a third-party compatibility problem.
Protect cooperative sessions
Do not bring a cheat-like PC tool into multiplayer simply because it offers a toggle for single-player. The project author specifically warns that features may glitch or stop working in multiplayer. Agree with other players before using any modification, and return to an unmodified setup for normal cooperative play.

Troubleshooting common “cheat” problems
A promised code does nothing
There is no official universal code list established by the reviewed Techland material. Treat the claim as unverified, check your game version, and look for an official menu feature instead of repeating the sequence.
The Maps and Mods option is missing
Check that Update 1.28 or a later supported build is installed, restart to the main menu and read the latest patch notes. If the option is still absent, verify platform and edition availability rather than installing a random “unlocker.”
A community mod stopped working
Compare the game’s executable version with the tool’s current project notes. Major updates can break the tool; disable it, restore the backup and test the unmodified game before attempting any further change.
Multiplayer behaves strangely
Exit the altered session, disable the third-party tool and relaunch an unmodified build. The repository’s multiplayer warning means a successful launch is not evidence of safe cooperative compatibility.
Bottom line for Dying Light 2 unlocks
For supported play, follow normal progression and current Techland updates, then use The Breach and Community Maps and Mods for additional experiences and rewards. No universal built-in cheat-code list is established by the official sources reviewed here. DL2DevMenu offers powerful PC-only, community-made options, but its update compatibility and multiplayer behavior are not guaranteed. Verify every instruction against your installed version and the live project or publisher page before changing a save.
