In Dying Light: The Beast, the Buried Truths quest takes you to Olivia at a water treatment facility, then down into its lower level to fight the Colossus. Follow the route below to reach the arena, use the poison crates and the boss’s recovery windows, and finish the encounter for the quest’s reported rewards.
Meet Olivia at the water treatment facility
Follow the objective marker to the water treatment facility on the eastern side of the map and speak with Olivia at her truck. The conversation advances the quest and directs you farther into the facility. For the route and mission sequence, see the Buried Truths mission guide.

Reach the lower-level arena
- Follow the new waypoint into the fenced area behind the main building.
- Look for the open section of floor tiles and descend to the lower level. A broken railing and opening in the ceiling grid can also help you spot the way down.
- Break the boards covering the circular entrance.
- Interact with the metal sheet to trigger the Colossus encounter.

Prepare for the Colossus fight
Healing items and a strong melee weapon are useful. Guide recommendations also include stamina upgrades and a shotgun for close-range bursts during recovery windows; these are optional suggestions, not quest requirements. Enter the fight with enough healing supplies to recover after a mistake, and avoid spending stamina on attacks when you need it to dodge.

Defeat the Colossus
Dodge charges and heavy attacks
The Colossus is especially dangerous up close, but its attacks create openings. Keep moving and dodge laterally as a charge is about to connect rather than retreating straight back. If it misses a major attack or crashes into a wall, use the recovery time to land hits instead of trading blows. The central pillar provides cover and space to reload or heal.
Use the toxic crates
The arena contains toxic or biohazard crates. Break one when the Colossus is close enough to be affected. The Epic Games Store Chimera guide identifies a green health bar as the cue that the Colossus has been poisoned. Attack while that effect is active.

Manage the additional infected
The Colossus can summon other infected. If they are interrupting your healing or attacks, clear them before returning to the boss. If they are not creating immediate pressure, the Neoseeker guide notes they can help fill the Beast Gauge.

The mission guide reports 12,500 XP and 800 Old World Currency for the quest. Guides disagree about the number of Beast Points awarded, so a precise total is not established. The quest is associated with completing Beast Mode progression; a Steam Community achievement guide also says the Ultimate Beast achievement can be unlocked after Buried Truths by spending remaining points to unlock the skill tree, but that community note does not settle the reward-count discrepancy.
