What the physical release means for the game
The physical versions are specifically for PS5; the announcement does not describe physical editions for other platforms. PlayStation lists Dying Light: The Beast as a standalone full game and a main entry in the series, released September 18, 2025. Its product page describes an open-world action survival horror adventure set in Castor Woods, starring Kyle Crane, with co-op for up to four players. PlayStation also says the concept began as downloadable content before Techland developed it into a full game. These are descriptions from the platform page, not independent gameplay findings.
Techland announced the physical release on September 18, 2026, marking the game’s first anniversary. The publisher said it was “bringing the community something you’ve been asking for: a physical edition of the game, created in partnership with Super Rare Games!”
