Dying Light: The Beast was announced as a standalone game, not as the second DLC for Dying Light 2 Stay Human. Techland said on August 20, 2024, that it would be available at no extra charge to owners of the game’s Ultimate Edition. The game later launched in September 2025, and a separate 2026 announcement introduced physical PS5 editions.

Is Dying Light: The Beast free for Dying Light 2 Ultimate Edition owners?

Techland’s August 20, 2024 announcement said: “Dying Light: The Beast will be available for no extra charge for owners of the Ultimate Edition of Dying Light 2 Stay Human.” That is the publisher’s stated offer. The announcement did not explain redemption steps, account or platform requirements, or a deadline, so those details should not be inferred from the announcement alone. Techland’s announcement

In a June 4, 2025 gameplay update, Techland said Ultimate Edition owners would automatically receive the Hero of Harran bundle for The Beast. This is a later, more specific update about the bundle; it does not change the wording or date of the original offer. Techland’s gameplay announcement

Was The Beast originally DLC for Dying Light 2?

Yes. Techland said the project had been anticipated as DLC2 for Dying Light 2 Stay Human, but announced it instead as a standalone adventure. The game stars Kyle Crane, protagonist of the original Dying Light and its The Following expansion. Techland’s August 2024 announcement
