Before settling on a club, consider how strong its starting squad is, how much rebuilding or survival work you want, whether scouting and player development interest you, and what rivalry or long-term story will keep the save engaging. Finances and board expectations matter too, but check them in your own game rather than assuming a database value will match your edition or save.

Pick Real Madrid if you want to take charge of an already elite club and focus on meeting expectations for domestic and European honors. The challenge is less about building from the ground up than keeping a top side performing under constant pressure.

Brighton & Hove Albion: scouting and development
Brighton is a natural choice if the fun of your save comes from scouting, developing young players and shaping a tactical identity. Build around recruitment and the youth academy, then see how far a carefully developed squad can go.
Chelsea: make a deep squad work
Chelsea suits players who enjoy selection dilemmas and tactical problem-solving. The save’s central task is to turn a deep, talented group into a coherent team, rather than assuming that adding more players is the answer.

Everton: a survival test
Choose Everton for a higher-pressure save built around keeping the club afloat with little room for error. It is a challenge concept for Career Mode, not a claim about the club’s current real-world situation. Players who raise the difficulty can make every result feel consequential.
Fenerbahçe: a rivalry-fuelled title chase
Fenerbahçe gives the save a clear domestic objective: win the Turkish league and beat Galatasaray. The rivalry supplies a season-to-season storyline, while the squad you encounter depends on the game’s roster and your save.

AS Monaco: chase PSG and compete in Europe
With Monaco, start from the position of a strong club and make the pursuit of PSG’s domestic dominance your central goal. Add European competition to the brief for a contender save that still has a clear obstacle to overcome.
Wrexham: take the long road upward
Wrexham is the pick for a lower-league climb. Aim for successive promotions and, eventually, the Premier League; the appeal is building a club over multiple seasons rather than chasing an immediate title.

Career Mode features that can shape your save
EA describes FC IQ as giving managers greater tactical control, with Player Roles influencing how players behave in tactics. That makes tactical identity a useful part of a Brighton development save or a Chelsea squad-balancing save. EA’s FC 25 features page also describes Manager and Player Career, Live Start Points, Player Career ICON stories, and a Women’s Career experience featuring clubs or players from five top women’s leagues.
EA announced Live Start Points as a post-launch update intended to let players enter real-world storylines. Its July 17, 2024 announcement also described women’s football in Career Mode and playable 5v5 Rush tournaments for Youth Academy development in Manager Career. Which options are available can depend on the game and update state.
